Glad you are ok, thats the main thing, and the good thing about the 14 is I think you can just replace the very lower (black) part without having to buy the whole left side fairing, like some bikes (ie busa) dont ask me how I know !!! donr worry about your bruised ego, hit the limiter a couple of times, and you will forget it ever happened....

Gotta love eating asphalt for breakfast!!! Haha! The road rash on my elbow tells me I need to invest in some quality leather before I fix the plastic. Surprisingly minor damage to the bike for sliding it across two lanes of oncoming traffic.(btw there was no traffic at the moment, I was turning for the gas station) Only the bar end, lower fairing, and the heat shield by the foot peg were damaged.

Cblast, it's still bugging me I can't pinpoint the exact cause of why I went down other than maybe because I was in a regular street (upright)position and attacked the turn harder than I had intended without thinking? Looking at my tire I have this even swirl scuff all the way around the edge. Was I spinning the rear without realizing it right before I lost traction or did that happen as I went down for a road rash sandwich? Was it the marbles in the intersection that got me? A combination of several things? Between 10-20mph max when I went down.
Btw gnarly scorpion, dude!

Thanks nasty! I love scorpions. I would keep em in the desert. The little clear yellow guys are deadly.
As to the tire and the down, here is what I'm thinking, it was those fing pebbles, the combination I the slightly more aggressive turn because you are getting used to the bike. Your speed was no prob for that little swoop in! I know what you did, I see it, it was just an easy left into the gas station cause all was clear. Problem is the trucks turning wide. The pebbles on the road, the Jedi sweep in at a smooth 20, the tires got a fast little input AS they crosse up pebbles. Fuck! It could have happened to any one of us. I do that little swoop all the time. It's a smoothness practice thing. I do it without thinking. Fucking gravel man. I think. What do you think? What did you feel, an unsettling from TIRES or CHASSIS? That's the crux o the matter. If you felt waggle in the chassis cause the upset then it was an input thing. Doesn't sound like that to me though. It sounds like ya felt a choppy little crunch slip from tire deformation over pebbles or 3/4 minus type debris.

That looks post scuff, nasty. That tire looks fresh, greasy, not broken in. Look at how high the casting flash is still way above any chicken stripe. JMO. So how new are those tires or rr tire?

Shit...glad you're okay there.Bummer.I just noticed...that's an Angel GT on there;)Hope mine doesn't decide to go bye bye;)Heal up now...
Just an aside here...these new Angel GT's do not come with that 'slippery' feel to em...mine didn't.Felt like they were rough and not so smooth....which I was surprised about.Had a grippy feel to the profile surface.

400miles most from one days ride on the highway. Virgin strip on a fresh tire mixed with marbles. And down diddly I go. That is exactly what happened an instantaneous loss of traction both front and rear.

I agree with you green. These Angle GTs have a nice grip and feel to them, but a fresh grippy tire is still a greasy slippery bastard!

Thanks for pointing out the obvious, Hub. I kinda totally overlooked the fact that both tires were still somewhat greasy. It was driving me nuts not being able to pinpoint the exact cause! I knew the marbles had some part in it, but I also knew there had to be more to it as to why it slipped out from under me so fucking fast like I hit a patch of black ice.

Blow up, okay gotcha, it's a sex doll, duh, missed that...
The way I see it the a half hour with the ad I sent you would save you the cost of the doll and shipping...It would be a great savings.

Tell ya the truth Nasty...NO set of tires other than MX or something is gonna grip on gravelly surfaces.Tires worn in or not.If you leaned in some gravel....you're goin down...especially at that speed...NO time to recover.TC won't help ya either. Not for that situation. If you'd been going faster...you might have pulled her out.I know exactly what you mean by...fell over fast...I was leaving(turning)at a stop sign,my rear caught some wet leaves I didn't see. Before I could react..she was falling...I was able to catch her...barely...knee jerk reaction really. She popped back up okay...but I really expected her to hit the ground.I don't think your tires really played any part in it at all.Street tires will do that...as you know. It's a heavy bike with momentum going once moving. Add gravel....dirt...oil...whatever...they don't like it one bit;)
Again..glad your okay and your damage was minimal;)
If the rubber can't grip the surface...it don't matter.New tires or not.
