well ! Grn14 "R" seems to me still you have your feelings hurt when all that have had "Constructive criticism" & very valid reasons to keep their "OLD ZX1400" all agreed you have bought a great bike so who has a problem ?

From reading your mod list Dragking, I'd say you've got plenty of power right now! Get your suspenders dialed in and go hunt down some of them liter bikes in the twisties!
If they can really ride those liter bikes they will flat disappear once the turns get tight!

I'm fine Beanman with MY choice....Someone else around here thought I should shut the f up about my new ride.I wouldn't exactly say that's any words of encouragement.ANYONE here can talk ALL DAY AND ALL NITE about their rides....I think it's just GREAT!EVERYONE should feel really good about their bikes...whatever they ride.I HOPE everyone here wants to talk about their rides. You'll never hear me say to someone...."Okay...you've praised your bike enough...now go away".
Believe me...my feeling's aren't hurt.I got what I wanted It was atad surprising however to hear a fellow rider of the best bikes out there say "give it a rest".TOTALLY rude,if I might use their own words.

Lots of good talk, IMO. The 14 will blow up with extra nitrous. The 14r might too. Ain't no gw goinna run me down. Awesome rider or not. It's a stretch for me to imagine. It's like expecting to run down very well ridden 600's in the tight twisties on a 14. Abs, yes. TC, for sure. My friggen 14 easily spins it rear in damp and dirty corner to third gear corner. Without abs, and easy roll on, scrubbing speed off is something you gotta be or get good at. A wicked up 14 pace on the street requires thinking a little ahead. Just ain't going to be hOnking into corners as hard as liters or 600's. It'll do 1/4 runs just fine, stock, thank you much. Drop my 08, for new 14r. Probably not, nor want. That's how good the 14 package was. But I also wouldn't hesitate to grin ear to ear if I did. Everyone rides differently and purposely. I like mine sport tour style, with lots of blurry, unfamiliar scenery. One eye on road, one out for cops and one out for anything else. Yeah, I ride with three fucken eyeballs. Didn't get 14 for drag racing. Not for a moment thought. But I hear, it don't do so bad there. And what I do know is it's one serious, mutherfucker, hold your asscheeks tight, packed with bags thrill machine that can transport you and passenger at will from sunset to sundown. What more can u ask for? A 14r maybe? If I could spend the rest of my life, just riding the 14 back forth all continents, I die a happy dude. Peace all you fuckers. Out.

You cannot compare passes done 6 years apart in what could be totally different weather conditions. Run both bikes on the same day, same track, same rider, and see what happens.
We can quibble all day long on the fine points and speculate on the details but my obvious point was... there isn't so much difference in the two machines to justify all of us, with paid off, pre-2012 ZX-14s, to rush out and plop down $14,000 cash on a new one. Why is this so hard to understand?
I'm not going to do it, not now, not ever! I'm sorry if that offends anyone but GET OVER IT ALREADY!!! Read my lips....I do not want a 2012 under any circumstances unless you gave it to me!
Why would I pay $14,000 for maybe 20 more HP? (comparing new one to my heavily modded '06) Doesn't sound like much of a bargain to me when I got all of the power I need already and best part....it's freekin PAYED FOR!! It seems to me the problem here is certain people want to project their opinion on the rest of us that if we're not on a 2012...we suck! Hey that's fine with me, you are certainly entitled to your opinion. In the meantime, I'm going to be out enjoying my "slow", "antiquated" '06....LMAO!

Of course, rider skill being equal, a liter or 600 will always have an advantage in the corners but that doesn't stop someone like DragKing from being able to chase down the less skilled on their liter bikes.

So what is the problem then? You're happy with your bike green, we all think that is great. Talk about it, no one is stopping you. I'm gonna say it for you so you don't have to: YOUR BIKE IS SUPERIOR TO OURS IN EVERY CONCEIVABLE PARAMETER, LOOKS, ACCELERATION, TOP SPEED, HANDLING, EQUIPMENT, YOU GOT IT ALL BABY!! YOU DA MAN!!!!!No one is arguing that our rides pale in comparison, we basically suck eggs and have no chance. We might as well end our miserable lives. OK, now that that's done, lets all go ride our bikes!

Sounds like Yellow Wolf was taking a little winter vacation. I can't believe there are that many other riders out there that could do that on a Gold Wing.

I never said anything negative about your 2006 and I'm glad you are enjoying it. I am sure it is very nice, I did not say otherwise. You have been interjecting negativity toward the 2012 into this thread, I have not been posting negative comments. I just said that the two runs you referenced cannot be compared and the bikes would have to be tested on the same day, same track, with the same rider. Basic math tells us that the 2012 should be significantly faster.
Two runs done 6 years apart cannot be compared. Weather conditions and DA changes from day to day and you cannot compare runs done in different environments. Besides, ¼ mile drags and dyno runs are only a small part of what these bikes are about. The newer bike also has a better suspension setup. This is not a knock towards the 2006, nor did I say that you need to upgrade. It is just a basic fact.
Add your basic bolt-on mods to a 2012 and watch out!

You know Kruz....this is twice now at least that you've thrown this idea out here. You needn't 'speak' for me...I can say exactly what I mean to say without anyone's help, thanks.I think you can tell by now....the members here can pretty much decipher what's been happening. If you really want to 'bury the hatchet'....then maybe stop attempting to get support for your 'ideas' about me,and let it go.I know you personally don't like me....that's certainly your right.Truth is...you don't really know anything about me.I'm not interested in having the latest and greatest...in anything.I got my new bike cause I wanted something new.NOT to feel above everyone else. And that's the honest truth.NOBODY here cares whether I personally like or dislike anyone's bike.I'm really NOT that important.I said I got what I wanted....a new bike. And I compared it to MY 07.Not to anyone elses.I 'suggested' you all to go ride the new one.Only because I felt that you'all would enjoy the experience as much as I did. It's cool....Nobody's dissing anyone's ride.EVER...not me.So that's where I'm at with this whole thing.I'm depressed....this 'thing' turned into a 'we' against 'you' deal.It never should have...but it is what it is.NONE of this is about superiority between bikes.None of it.Never was on my end.
"It seems to me the problem here is certain people want to project their opinion on the rest of us that if we're not on a 2012...we suck!"
No one here ever said anything even remotely suggesting that.I'm not here to create division...I don't know about anyone else...what they want to do.
I'll say this...you turn the Ktrc off on this new one...you better know what the heck you're doing. And you better know how to think ahead.

Grn, I thought we had agreed to let sleeping dogs lie, read my last couple of posts on this thread, I'm done. All's well that ends well, that kind of thing. You're referring here to an earlier post I made before we decided to 'smoke the peace pipe', 'bury the hatchet', y'know put an end to the arguing. I don't have an actual peace pipe but Dogo has one hell of a bong he'd probably loan us....LOL! J/K dogo!

Kruz, Even if you gave that pile an italian tuneup, I doubt it will touch the R. That checkmate may have been for the, now old, short lived, rr they were checkmating. Sounds slow, but what do I know? That R on the other hand, sounds crisp and nasty.

Not to get sidetracked.. I respect both Kruz and Grn14.. I just have a question for this thread that I must ask. I admit, my bike is no longer streetable, evil swingarm, rock clutch, bored, NOS, etc.. but after owning so many ZX's..these bikes just don't really seem to have any other use to me.. I have had many other bikes, 25 in total.. If I want a street bike, I'll take an R1.. or so.. but I have alot of HP!.. and honestly, even with 160 , what is the value of that on the street??? I mean, what is the usable power of that?? And I dare to ask anyone in this forum who uses that on the street other than racing at SWB? So, to side with Kruz, yeah, I actually think a street bike maxed out with perhaps the ZX-11.. or even before.. have had everyone of em..
