Good installation of earplugs can make a loud helmet a lot quieter, I use "Flents Quiet Please"
They work really good IF YOU PUT THEM IN RIGHT, and are pretty cheap, and you just toss and replace

I have a Shoei XR 1100. Got it new in January.
Wish I didn't listen to the dealer though. From memory was like $800 AUD but now shoei website has them retail at $649. Will have to check on pricing when I find receipt.
Sure enough it fits well. isn't that heavy considering it is glass. but it does not vent.
With all vents open, I have to ride with visor open to first notch.
I have a crappy under $200 helmet that vents a lot better than the XR 1100.
ATM I only have the stock clear visor, but since the cooler weather has come in, it just fogs up.

Why are race helmets loud? They are racing at high speeds so why would they want a noisy helmet?

they only wea ra for how long? 40 min a race? ive worn a helmet for 10 hours in a day

I have a Schuberth S2. Probably the best helmet I've ever owned - not cheap though but neither is repairing a cracked skull!

I want cool graphics. I've been nursing an Arai Quantum/e because it fits so well and has cool graphics, maybe a collector's item. I like the pull down chin-guard. Only the check pads remove for cleaning. A new face shield was $64.

Montero, no offense, but if you paid $800 AUS (which is about $750 US) you got ripped, if that is the price I would seriously call your credit card company (if you used one) and see if you can make a claim, the RF1100 (same as XR1100) is about $279-$300 US for solid colors, and slightly more for graphics, for $800, you could probably have someone ship you a Schuberth SR1 or get a Shoei of your choice for a lot less than $800, my Shoei GT-Air with graphics, was only $543 shipped total ...

Not trying to be a jerk, but I hate it when I think dealers ripoff customers ...
