Blue,
Everything you described is exactly what happens to me. My hands and feet taking the worst of it. I have been able to put on enough of the correct gear to keep from being miserable(although I feel like a little mummy) but, with my hands and feet, to maintain some sort of feel with the controls, I get totally numb, which then scares the sh** out of me. I'm now 51 and my old man use to tell me when I got older I would probaly notice this to be true...... And I use to poke fun at him because he claimed he was always getting "cold" as he got older. I guess it's my turn.

Why endure the torture?

I don't commute on a motorcycle under any circumstances,
more of a joy-riding guy I guess.

Mass, we are the same people that way. My bike is a 07 and there is about 12k on the clock. If the tack is not waving at me, I'm board. I don't do the tour ride thing either. If I'm going to go on a tour, I would like to do it in a motor home, like the one on meet the Falkkers. LMAO. Bikes on back of course.

Sounds familiar..My dad used to be human furnace but he can't even keep his feet warm indoors anymore. Also, his skin has literally gotten thinner and if he gets a scrape or cut on his hands, it takes for ever to heal.

I'm still a radiator like my dad was, I never get sick and i heal like a reptile. I think i could grow a new finger if i had to. But I'm sure my day is coming to me too.

BTW, you guys who ride in the cold are awesome. I can't bring myself to do it with all the salt someone thinks we need here - bunch of candy azzes can't drive on a little snow with 4 wheels. We never even had salt in my hometown growing up. They just used sand and it was fine.

Well its a balmy 53 degrees but I don't ride if the roads are wet no point really if the throttle is opened the tire spins. Also the good roads are sandy and such in the corners or terminally wet until who knows when. Did ride friday though dry roads railed up to some good speed. I got a heated liner and gloves this year also, man that makes it so nice. I still don't like to ride when its below 40 out for fear of traction problems. It takes very little to upset the cart in that weather.

I agree on the commuting thing also. I tried it for a while but it was dangerous and boring as well as a temptation to get a ticket. Commuting is also a waste of tires they only get so many miles on them might as well make it count.

Good to see another rider from Oregon. I'm in the big town of Beaverton. We should get together for a ride in the spring or whenever its nice out.
