Rod - Exactly, you got it
Not a side view, not a view directly forward from the rear ... but half-way in between those.
I've always heard it called a 3/4 view. Maybe it's got another name.
Edit: Yeah, I just googled "car 3/4 view" and every pic is what I'm referring to, a pic from an angle somewhere between side and rear, or side and front. Phew, thought I was losin' it. Well, I'm sure I am ...

For those of you that say its hard to get rid of the chicken strips on a 190/55, I'm finding it very easy. Granted, I'm not talking about really serious wear, but I do see that I'm getting to within a mm or so of the edge.
This is on the angel gt, so other tires may indeed be different. Last time I took my favorite corner at speed I was just touching the right side peg, and the outside of my boot. That's MY personal warning sign. When I get 'er leaned enough for that to happen I'm cornering hard enough. That's when its right almost to the edge of the rear tire. I don't see a way to use any more of the front without dragging parts quite seriously.
No need to find the limit and pass it = crash.

rod442, is that with the Angel GT A-Spec, or just the regular Angel GT?

Kixxit, 200 is the width and the 50 is the height. However lets consider a 6" wide rim made for a 190/50 width tire. If you put a 200 on it the tire got wider but the rim stayed the same. So where did that extra width go? It has no where to go but up. So the tire got taller and the tip in would get easier. Tip in is easier because the profile is taller and because you raised the rear of the bike (assuming you did not lower the rear to compensate). Now if we add a 200/55 then you have a tire that would be naturally taller even on the proper width rim because its a 55 and now you shove that on a rim that is narrower than designed for the tire. SO basically you end up with a 190/60.
D/A - That's pretty much my train of thought when I jumped on this thread. I've got a Dunlop Q3 190/55 I took off my GSXR which I think has some street wear left on it. The BattleAxe is worn to the steel belt down the middle. Even if I get only 500 miles out of the Q3 it should be enough for me to figure out if bigger really is all that much better. Keep in mind the BattleAxe is so damn flat down the middle ANYTHING will feel better! When's the next time you're headed for the track?

Hi Guys, I have always lowered my tyre pressure, on my sports bikes, have also got a 2012 ZZR1400 and love it. Most of my riding on this bike is with a pillion, to the TT races, and away to Moto GP races, do I still lower the tyre pressure as the standard tyre pressure is 46 !!!! front and back.
Cheers TTPAUL.

tigerfire, I have the regular gt. non a spec. I figure the weight loss of the titanium exhaust and the fact that I don't ride 2up often, I don't need them. My friend called Pirelli about the A spec for his '13 FJR and he was told that his bike with a single rider was just about the weight where you would want to switch over to the A spec. so that's what? 650# wet? My bike must be a good 100# under that. Someone who consistently adds a passanger would be pushing that threshold though.

So I have spent a few days with the Q3 195/55. I do believe it makes a difference. I wish I could compare two bikes back to back to make sure its not my imagination, but it really seems to make a difference in the low speed manuevering as much as the high speed stuff. I'm thinking I'd be wasting my $ on Q3's so I'll probably give the Angel GT's a try when the flat spot down the middle of my tire forms. I still have the old BattleAxe on the front end and I could've sworn it slipped on my taking an on-ramp today. New tires are in my future.

Watch out. I've always changed front and rear at the same time even though the front is never close to being worn out. I'm going with a new rear with old front on the busa soon to save $$. but I know it's not the safest thing to do.
thanks for the tip. what causes this situation to be dangerous? If the tire has grip the tire has grip right? As for going with the 200/55, does this increase the tip-in further or reduce it compared to the 190/55? maybe i should go for a 195/55 if there is such a thing - split the diff....

Never saw a 195 width tire, IDT. You might find a 190/60. You will find 200/60 for sure but that might be too much. Never tried it.

A 200/55 came very close to the front inside of my swing arm. IDK if a 200/60 would fit unless you had the axle pulled back a little more than stock WB.

I ordered the Angel GT's. Unfortunately they only come as big as 190/55. I should get them on the bike sometime next week. I tried to get a set of the Dunlop Roadmaster III's but they're not being sold in the USA at this time.
