That's funny B! :)) and hey fat, I see what you mean about the hot temps! That would be too hard! I would check your hot temp after a hard ride and ease it back to where you like it hot, then check it cold. Then pick ur sweet spot. I am a little obsessive about stuff.

If its raining. Its because I swapped the settings and thought about going for a ride.

It might be a little easier to loose weight then it is height.

Drink it already!

CBlast... I used your front end settings and dropped my preload to 4 lines. Swapped the rear settings and added .25 more compression. Bumped psi to 34/36. Thank you for the feedback.

Soft and supple yet firm where she needs to be.

As far as the bike goes. It sticks to the road better going over bumps, no odd hard hits. My limited skill tells me it eats up some corners. I thought Tue nose dive when breaking would be an issue, but it is very controlled. Its a nice setup. I know I can't out ride it at this time. Now if the trucks and fucking prius's would stay out of the left lane...

Why buy a hybrid car and run it in the left lane at 70 mph? Oh right, you got a cash for your clunker rebate. FFS. Moooove.

9mm is too small for anything. 45 would be minimum. I want a rocket pods mounted on the bike, so I can blow them up and ride underneath of the car while it is flipping in the air on fire.

I realized while lubing up the chain last night, that my tire isn't squared off. The high spot that would normally be in the center has been moved to the right side of the center, if that makes sense. I think its from not having the tires aligned. Or I am a real bitch when making right hand turns. The left side of the tire to the center looks great. I will take a picture, its funny. Like I only make left hand turns.

Yessir, sounds like misalignment, maybe count flats in the adjuster bolts or measure with calipers to verify axle block distance from adjustment point. On my bike, those little index marks are slightly off.

Hi Fatsix,

Could it be the road camber?

It's called crown, and no it will not cause funky tire wear.

I know my alignment was off. The string method don't lie! It was actually un nerving how far off it was. I was trying to measure from the swing arm mounting point to the adjuster. The path on each side is different and it would take forever to align. I eventually used the calipers at some point. I had raised the bike 3/8 in the back and had to re adjust the chain slack and this is when i found out how fucked up it was. After aligning the front tire to the back tire with the proper chain slack I marked the adjuster bolts.

The bike instantly turned better. With CBlast's settings dialed into the front, I am slowly getting more comfortable with the idea of attacking turns.

That's an interesting pic C...on mine...the block mark is not quite to the third swingarm mark.Maybe a couple MM before it.Equally...both sides. You didn't change your front sprocket didja?I changed the rear about 1200 miles ago.Stock.Chain's adjusted per manual.Still looks new and all.

I've never aligned any of my bikes with that string method....wonder if mine is off?Seems to be fine...there is ONE thing though...and I can't figure out if it's a 'problem' or just an anomaly.SOMETIMES...when I'm lubing the chain...I'll be rolling the wheel(in the rear stand)in the drive direction(only go about 5 links at a time and spray lube). There will once in a while be a 'knock'....kinda 'faint'...noticeable...but not real loud....As I turn the wheel.Seems to only be in one spot of revolution...It doesn't sound like it's coming from the chain.More like something with the left bearing maybe? But then it'll disappear....once I turn the wheel freely several times.I couldn't have a damaged wheel bearing at this point could I...and HOW could I?I've greased both sides when I remove for a tire swap.Everything rolls okay when I put my finger in the hub and move the bearing.Does yours do this?I was thinking it may be something with the rear ABS...but she spins okay.

I know...it's a helmet thread...but we did start talking about chains and such;)

Yeah grn, I would run the adjusters all the way in and count turns equally out. Mark em so you don't lose count. Then you will know. If I heard that from the bearing, I would probably just replace it. Not very hard.

"heard that from the bearing"...I honestly can't tell if it's the bearing...that's how iffy it is.But it's sometimes there...that light 'clunk'...and then it's gone.I don't hear or feel anything while riding...no vibrations or anything that I can tell.

Thing is...it doesn't happen all the time...and I don't see how a ball bearing could get a 'flat' spot on it somehow...especially since they're so new?I honestly don't know what it is...comes and goes as I'm lubing the chain...Then it goes away...and stays away after turning the wheel many several times forcefully.I checked for any sideways play...none.Solid.Weird...I inspected the chain carefully...it seems fine as well...I clean it kinda regularly and keep it lubed.

I didn't think mine was out either, because i measured 150 times. 1 complete turn of the adjuster bolt causes significant changes in the alignment towards the front.

Ya know grn, it may just be a sticky link in the chain. I don't know if ya do it or not, but about once a week, I put her in the stand and use a good bristle brushe and some Wd-40, clean that sucker good, wipe down, lube with chain wax. Tight spots or sticky links do occur. Just thinkin what it could be. I also think its too new for a bearing.
