zx, I may have to disagree. Let's physically remove the fliesubsay. Say the maps have not changed. Say the vacuum pull is sooner, faster, whatever the throttle opening is without the subs now. But here is the kicker. Lets say we are sustained in throttle @ 65mph. That vacuum pull is reading off the same map.
So for you to say the bikes are the same, because you lifted the subs open, and there is the performance change, no, can't be. Yes, a faster even happened, like a 1/5th throttle opening. But it's still plotting off the same map. As if you were in neutral and WOT the throttle to the rev limiter, it still followed the same map in ROM.
Now, when you flash the ign or fuel, this is being written in RAM, but is saved in ROM. So that new ignition curve is going to be read with subs in or out, as if the stock map was seeing the same sub removal, it's all about changing the map, not the fly removal.
