I totally agree...we DO need to laugh more.Share more.Talk about our rides more.Be open more to letting others 'get things off their chests' whether here or in their lives.Somebody doesn't like that kind of thing?...then post up something you DO like...other than bashing people over the head with your own unhappiness. If anyone thinks differently about someones personal deal...his ride, his life...fine.Just show some respect towards others and everything will be okay around here. It's not up to BG to 'make' any of this happen by saying the forum may be shut down.He doesn't want to do that. The ones here...we're the ones that are gonna make that final decision.By what we do.How we treat each other.I say again....nobody here is a faceless nickname without feelings and thoughts.Using the escape"it's just the internet..nobody really cares" is the sorriest statement I've personally ever heard.(well,up there with a few others).But...if it shuts down...it won't be BG's fault.

The 'writings on the wall' so to speak. This deal has brought this forum to the crossroad."Someone" is saying...."I won't tolerate any more of this uglyness".I'm WAY good with that. And I don't mean BG either.

Hubsteer, Grn, both of you guys take a day off to cool down. Don't post anything, let's see if this whole thing doesn't die down.

BG - I think once things simmer down a little the edit/delete function is useful. I read somewhere that the average age of a ZX14 owner was 41. It sure doesn't seem like it sometimes.

This is for Hub and Green and anyone ells involved please act more your age and just ignore each other I DO NOT WANT THIS FORUM TO SHUT DOWN because some grumpy old men want to throw personal attacks at each other I understand life is stressful and sometimes throws you a curve ball that smacks you right in the face that’s why the forum is here and that’s why we bought our bike’s to free the stress of life I don’t know about the rest of you but when I’m on my bike all my problems just disappear even on the straight roads here in FL and Green I am truly sorry about your mom’s condition I understand what you are going threw in the last 8 months I have lost 2 grandparents and my great grandma and I had to watch them fight different health conditions including dementia and Hub I understand you side to I don’t like being threatened either but it’s the internet balls get the size of bowling balls and cocks the size of a “Budweiser can” and sometimes people say things they don’t mean we are a family of ZX-14 riders and adrenaline is a hell of a drug and if you stop cold turkey your gunna get testy so go outside and start a snow ball fight!

Do I sound like I should 'take a day off?'...not post because it 'might' get someone else in a tizzy.I'm not going to stop being who I am because someone else refuses to be a help around here.No way.I've been here long enough.I've paid my dues here.

NOBODY has to say anything.Nobody is putting a gun to anyone's head and saying..."you better do this or that".EVERYONE here is RESPONSIBLE for their OWN conduct.Their OWN words.Talk shit,or talk clean.EVERYONE gets to choose.

I see what you're saying Kruz..I do...and I know you mean well...you do.You have a heart of caring. But trying to think that 'cooling off' is gonna make things change...it won't.If the spirit of hatred is there..."cooling off' isn't gonna do anything. It'll come back again and again and again until it's dealt with.Whether here or anywhere else.

If somebody looks at themselves and decides.."I think this is a bunch of hooey..I'm not doing anything different"...fine.It's their choice.Other people may just possibly feel different.THEIR choice as well.

Comparisons against each other here are pointless.A waste of time.Destructive.I have enough belief in people here to think that every one of us can be civil with each other and agree to disagree like adults.

Where'e the DragMeister, he started this whole thing then bugged out on us?

Lol, I'm right here Kruz, I checked this thread yesterday and it showed only 80 something messages so I thought BG deleted most of it. Last time I was actually involved in the discussion here was when Hub and I were discussing the 14 suspensions.
It's sad this thread had a lot of potential but I guess some people got over sensitive. The problem seems to be that a lot of people think the 14 is totally different from a liter. I kind of agree with that but at the end of the day, they are all called sport bikes... therefore I don't see why they can't be compared. Moreover, a lot of people just missed the point. Although it veered that way several times, the question wasn't about which was better? It was about the technology improvements like ABS, TC and other goodies smaller bikes were getting. I felt and still feel like the hyper bike market is like your neighborhood big & tall: less selection and lower quality. It's funny that some people taught we were questioning their new purchases.
As far as the Green stuff, I guess some of us got tired. Most of the explanations of the new bike came with abstract definitions i.e. way better, way smoother, etc. We told him that we understood switching from a stock 07 to a stock 2012 was probably a good move but that our modded 1st generation were worth keeping. Then, we fell into a black hole, he didn't respond well and here we are after some death threats and some "you' mama" jokes.

As for shutting the forum down... I think it'd be over reacting... Like Dogo said if it has to come to that, I'm for revoking some of us "membership" even if it includes me. I totally agree with the no delete/editing. That'll force people to actually read and think twice about what they say.

Yea I get lucky a lot but the things you really have to watch out for are alligators, pig’s, coyote’s, deer and turtles lots or turtles and now the 6-10ft pythons that are sitting in the middle of the road!

Good to see ya back on track Drag. I think the majority of folks have cooled off and things will settle down. I got the 14 out the other night and brought the tires back to book spec. What a difference, almost as nimble at low speed as a liter and really stable on the sweepers. My bike likes 42/42 period, anything less and the handling starts to deteriorate.

My parts came in for my 6R and hopefully will have it put back together tomorrow.

Yeah I don't do low pressure, I think it's just asking for trouble on the street. Mine is done but I couldn't get out of work to get it today so I won't be able to try the new suspension until next tuesday if I manage to get a ride over there. I did a revalve and went with heavier springs on the forks and got a different shock, all from Ohlins. Hopefully tuesday I can get there and get my suspensions dialed in. I've got more goodies coming for the bike and some new gear. I'm having a late christmas

Raccoon’s opossums and rabbits will always run out in front of you there just daring I guess but my 2bro’s slip-ons tend to work for the larger stuff but I have come to the conclusion that there will never be an exhaust loud enough to get the attention of a cager on a cell phone!

One thing I want to know...Dragking...you did some excellent mods to your bike.Your 14...right.You HAVE to post up how this has worked with your bike..vs the way it was before.Several times I heard of guys on here sayin they did just what you did...their only reviews of how it worked were...well...pretty empty for anyone who was maybe thinkin about doin it.I wanted to upgrade mine several times...but I couldn't get any responses that actually said..."when I did this or rode her like that...this is how it was different"Sa'll good.I hope she's rollin really good for ya now.

Hey Kruz, do you hear that echo? Delete a couple of those posts.......oh, hang on.

Drag, I have to admit I have been guilty of a boring review of the new 14R. I haven't had the chance to get out as much as I would like but have a big ride planned for tomorrow. As far as my decision to choose the 14 over a liter, I have had 2 other 14's, and a handful of liter bikes in between. I went back to a 14 mostly for the comfort. The physical size of the bike fits me better, and I felt that I had to flog the R1 every time I took it out. Is is so much more race track oriented in riding position and was happiest way high in the rev range. The majority of my riding is spent commuting, and then a little play at the weekends so riding at sensible speeds in comfort was important to me. I needed to cut down to 1 bike, and my previous 14's were my favorite all round. If I was going to spend more time on the track, or get another track bike, I would get a 10R for sure.
