Great pic! Posted that to my FB page. Thanks Dogo.
BTW, one thing you might find handy if you don't already have is a portable (asin not bolted to a trailor bed) wheel chock. Track bikes don't have attached stands. If you take a bike with a side stand, they will make you ziptie it so it cannot come down on the track. Somebody let me borrow their Condor chock which worked great for the 14. I was able to get the bike in and out by myself and it held the bike up fine (although it did lean a few degrees off center , it was in there good).

Make the day just a little more enjoyable than using a rear stand, I'm sure. Keeping my eye on the Holiday and year end closeout sales for a Condor... There's always the HF knockoff too though. I have a couple of THESE bolted in my trailer, and they work well (w/tiedowns) for hauling my bikes.

I'm game Dogo.... what day where you thinking? U gna have space for a 14 in your trailer if not I may just ride there, the office is in Austin but couldn't find out the track location. The guy that s going to upgrade my suspension is going to be there so I'll be able to talk to him. $140 is cheap for track days sweet! Plus that'll be after my hearing/trial so I'll have lots of steam... choo choo

I would sure go. Kind of far but not as far as TX, I don't think. I paid 100 for BHF butthen they socked me for another $30 when I got there. IDK what they said it was for. Fee for vehicle to enter the grounds, I guess. I have my eye on Road America in Elkhart Lake. About a 50 minute ride and some wickedass county roads on the way out there if you don't take the interstate.
This literbike dude is claiming 181 mph on the the long straightaway at RA (1:06). Maybe you CAN do it. Just be sure you have enough slowdown room.
....and a rear stand be fine for a track day but the only thing is you will need to get off the bike w/o putting a side stand down. I am not used to that. Hate to drop it at 0 mph, especially at a track day. I am sure as you get into it, you will make a lot of friends that you would trust to help hold your bike while you got off it. For now, front wheel chock is better IMO.

Dude was flyin'!... but I dunno... my gen1 10r won't do it... He could be built, or even just runnin' taller gearing than me though.

Yeah, 1000 cc is a lot of go, but nothing hits the spot like a 750 IMHO.
Popular opinion with track day junkies... Gixxer 750 has a great rep... but I would love to see Kaw produce a middleweight contender again. ![]()

The Gixxer 750 IS a great little machine - but it IS LITTLE! Had a 750 Suzuki waaaay back when (86') got it right after learning on the GS1150, it was plenty fast for the day, but there's nothing like BIG cc's! Can't see going back down the ladder unless they start making liter bikes with much more comfortable ergos...

But that 600 chassis won't be too kind to my body
Same size as a modern 1000, exact same ergos. You go through the pain at the gym and up your fitness level in order to endure the pain on the bike at the track and be able to run faster and faster laps in the 20 min session.
Your 14 seat is comfy? You rarely put both ass cheeks on the seat (often a foam pad if it's a superbike tail), even on the long straights you must put your rear all the way back almost off the back of the seat in order to fully tuck under the screen and fairings.

You are so far up the ladder that bikes that make half of the horsepower of yours get around the track faster.

That's great news... when I heard about the 600 chassis I thought the bike would be smaller than a liter. 750's aren't that popular off the track so I may be able to get a good deal for track. They must be a great deal of aftermarket pieces for it also since it's been around for a while.
I'm in pretty good shape! I stopped working out after getting rear ended on the bike in April... I couldn't go hard in the gym so I got frustrated... but since my body fat is low all I lost is muscle, 15lbs of it. Yeah it's funny people complain about gaining weight when they stop I complain about losing weigh. My endurance and absolute strenght is still pretty good... but at 6 5 my knees start hurting when I get into an aggressive posture for too long and it'd hurt more on a smaller bike. I just enrolled in a gym today so instead of doing the usual football workouts, I'm going to do stuff that focus more on endurance, maybe 20 minute circuits with lots of balance and core stuff... could be fun.
You do have a point mass, whether it's on a 14 or on a 250 riding on track is not comfy and not supposed to be. 20 min is not that long and I'll have time to strech between session etc so it'll be all good! Can't wait for dec 10th!

I didn't think I would like going down in power until I started riding my 600 in the twisties, and I don't miss it at all! The 600 is a GREAT chassis, and a good amount of power. I would like to get a 750 for a twisties and track bike, but, my 600 will more than do!

track school Dec 10 houston Texas
I am not working on the tenth which means I am taking care of my kids. If I had relatives in Houston, would be a nice late Fall getaway and fun track day. Somebody has to watch out for the kiddies. I don't think they can hang out at the track all day. They'd last about one hour. ...would have to be a few days and at least and lots of kid friendly activities. Way to much travelling and running with kids over a 2.5 day weekend. Be better to ask off of work but I think I need to do that 30 days in advance.
Thanks Dogo and dragking. I don't think it's in the cards for me this time. The 14 is even all zipped up. Just need to put battery in (cross your fingers). Would sure be nice to go somewhere warm and ride. Have to plan that out for next year. Thanks for the idea!

I was a big time Suzy 750 nut before my 14. Unfortunately, I had the heavy2nd gen water cooled (I can't say what year because it had been raced so long most the parts were from the same year but let's just say a 94). I loved the styling though and everything was just the right size (well until I had the been sitting on a 14 a couple weeks, then it was odd).
Anyway, while I got plenty of time to dream about my next sporty I've been thinking another 14 or I go back to a newer 750 Suzy (maybe Kaw if they had one). I think the sport bike world was a happier place when all the big makers had a 750 in their lineup. I'm glad Suzy has decided to keep it going for now. Plenty of bike for most people.
Not to take up too much of your thread but here's a little picky of my ole Suzy.
I miss that sweet old 'Suzy' of mine.

Too bad you can make it Rook it would have been nice to go with a 14 owner who has done a track day.
I think we might have the track all to ourself. Everyone else would just go home.
I'm a no-go, not that I was invited and all...

I don't know what kind of impression I leave regarding my standard of living. Nothing to brag about but I am pretty sure the Carolla would make it there.
Sure it would... Those cars are damn near indestructable... Hope you didn't actually take offense to "hop on a Greyhound"... Was using the term loosely... to say, find a way to get your ass there! ![]()

...of course not. I'd even Go, Go GReyhound! Last time I did that, about 20 years ago it was ~$120 round trip to go, go 200 miles. Not exactly cheap.

Ouch... yeah, drive the Corolla... tell ya what... I'll pay for your gas... you pay for mine.
2500 miles (each way) x 10 miles to the gallon =
