Sounds familiar to my experience, I had a couple of guys on that forum that copped an attitude with me and I was being very polite, just stated my opinion and they decided to get confrontational.

I would love to be in your shoes Kruz. I couldn't get my broken, old butt on the Aprilia for more then a couple of miles. Right now, the '14 is taxing me some.
I do agree that the '21 is the way to go. There are a lot of ways to make it different, and they probably will not cost ya $7k.

Hi Zxinit, agreed, for the $7K you can afford a lot of bling, carbon fiber wheels, SC Project carbon fiber full system, Race ECU, etc. The silver/gray paint was my biggest issue but I've come to appreciate it as being kind of elegant in an understated way. I think I bought the right one and all the reviewers got it right when they said the base models non-electronic suspension is actually better than the fancy Ohlins EC 2.0 Smart electronic suspension on the Factory unless you're using it for the road. This is hands down the best suspension of any of my machines including the Ohlins TTX36 shock and NIX 30 forks on my Repsol Honda. I haven't touched the stock suspension settings yet, fiddled and diddled the rest of the bikes but these work right out of the box. Stiff but plush at the same time. Aprilia really sorted this bike out and it instantly has become my favorite bike.

"they decided to get confrontational".Confrontational? Always a tool or two on any manly lifestyle forum.Poor babies.
Yea and wait until they see the video I posted earlier today, they're going to go into melt down mode. Not sure what happened Grn, I usually get along with folks on the forums pretty well but there's a couple of "tools" over there as you call them that want to take exception with almost everything I say. Most of the guys seem OK but there's a few whiny, tit babies over there, I need you and the Hubster to join up and give 'em hell...

Hey Extrapolator, good to hear from you again bro.......
Yessir, the ZX14 is all you really need, it truly is the "swiss army knife" of motorcycles. Sorry to hear the Tuono didn't work out for you, they are fantastic bikes from what I hear.
As for the RSV4, yea, my main concern was reliability; but after joining the forum and talking with owners, I came to the conclusion that Aprilia's reputation for poor reliability is based on stuff that happened decades ago, issues they have long since resolved. At the end of the day, you have to just make a decision and go for it. I have been wanting an RSV4 for a long time, but the high purchase price and the things you mentioned kept me on the fence, "waffling" as you say. BTW, if you were around the forum back in 2016 when I picked up my Ducati 959, I waffled on that one also but finally went for it and that bike has been one of the most reliable I have ever owned.
Cheers!
John

I was having some missed upshifts whilst using the Aprila Quick Shifter, found out the shifter toe peg is on an eccentric and was adjusted to the lowest position, rotated the eccentric 90 degrees and raised the peg 9.5 mm which solved the issue. This is a cool adjustment, never seen anything like this on a Japanese machine.

I've heard about poor reliability on Ducati's and BMW's, then KTM's and Aprilia's ... but I have a feeling your comment is true of most of them by now. I mean, how long can a company build crap and stay in business?!
As for assholes on the Ape forum ... I visit the Vette forum quite often, and they have plenty there, too. Interesting thing, though ... the forum is separated by Vette era, ie a sub-forum for "C1 & C2" Vettes which is '53-'67, C3 is '68-'82, etc ... members of the newer model sub-forums are waaaaay more likely to be assholes than the owners of older Vettes. I suppose it's because owners of older Vettes tend to be, well, older ... and more mature
And owners of newer Vettes, seemingly C6's and C7's which is '05-'19, well I suppose those are testosterone fueled jackasses that have just enough $ to buy a Vette and try to show it off, brag, act stupid, be a dick, etc. Just glad I never did that kinda stupid shit!!

True Dat Extrapolator, having a few grey hairs tends to bring on emotional maturity, we've been there and walked the walk and know it's much better to try and get along than to create havoc. When I was in my 20s, I knew everything or thought I did anyway, the older I get the more I realize I really don't know that much at all, imagine that. I don't like getting down in the dirt on the forums, life's way too short for that nonsense.

Booted off the vette site long ago. Stopped bike work and said I better get some car experience under me. Thus, dealer lever chevy and honda cars. 5yrs worth of vettes and suburbans. Someone gave me shit and I gave shit back. Funny how that works. The 'do unto other' syndrome.
You sure are adding up the patina with the boot scrubs. Bad boy, that is too dry a chain for me. You sure you're not up on the lube every 300mi?

Looks like you rub your toe with your boot but I think that's a slider. You're a bad boy for not lubing your chain more generously.
The chain does look pretty dry in the pics that precede your recent posts. Your chains seem to last a very long time nonetheless. Then again, your oldest bike, the ZX-14 probably has less than 25000 miles on it.

Still lost, brand new bike with 341 miles, chain lubed at 300 miles, before that, white lithium grease or whatever they put on it before rolling it out the factory door. Boot bit, still not sure, fairly new boots and yes, there is a black toe guard on the inboard side of the boots on both sides probably for either right or left side shift and a stainless steel slider outboard both sides. I use Maxima chain wax at 300 miles to keep the o-rings soft, been doing this forever and I've replaced one chain in 16 years, ZX-6R at 20,000 miles. ZX-14 is at 29,000 miles, still on the original chain, so no complaints here.
BTW Hubsteer, is that your bike in the video above? Dam, do you ever clean that thing....lol!

Ha! That's easy ... you have no T&A, whereas Jared pimps out his woman. Add a scantily clad attractive female and your views will increase.
