Did some quick research. Its off a kawi zephyr the part number is 13144-1317. Its everywhere on the web. Just type into google 16 tooth front sprocket zx14 off a zephyr. Everyone gets it and loves it if you read about it. They said it was 28 bucks from kawi. Hope this helps out if you decide to go for it.

One last question, which 43 tooth rear sproket did you go with, just curious .... think i am going to stick with steel instead of aluminum... or maybe supersprox, teeth are steel, but center is aluminum

I went alum. but it doesn't really matter. What ever your comfortable with really. There are PLENTY of drag racers with powerful bikes i have talked with in the past that beat the hell out of their bikes and have alum. sprockets on there bikes for like 500 passes and they told me they are fine. But like i said you won't and can't tell a difference with what ever you get anyway. Remember if your going to go with a 43 rear make sure to get the kawi 16 tooth up front,or you really won't feel any difference with just one tooth on the back. And if you guys get this done post your impressions,i'm dying to see what you guys think. Remember your only going -1+1 so it will be nice but don't worry about it being to crazy or radical that's more -1+2,but this bike doesnt need that much. And if you get it done and are stock length bike if you ever wanted to try wheelies................hahahahaha just give it a little more than a quater throttle in first or second!!!!!!!!!!Don't get me wrong daily driving it's fine, but if you ever try to take off a lil harder you'll think your on a 1000's fighting wheelies!!!!!

I have saved your Post ZX and put it on my wish list.
Doing some things now, gearing will need to wait.
It is on the horizon!

I'm not gonna wait. I have been too closed minded about this. I was a fan of it on my old busa. I gotta give credit where credit is due, thank ya ZX! I am stoked, gonna be funny, I ride a lot of twisties with a close friend that has the ZX600rr homologation special. He is already incredulous at how hard I pull away from him at certain spots. I am just gonna do the swap, not say anything. The gearing change leaves us with a top speed of about 188. I bet it gets there like a mo fo!!! :)))

It pulls just a lil more solidly. Don't get me wrong guys its not nitro but you will appreciate it trust me. When your just cruising around and roll on the gas it's instant pull all the way to the redline. The only time it'll ever be to much is if your at a stop and you try to pin the throttle. Even half throttle will pull the wheels right off the ground. Now if you take off fast BUT give it a nice slow throttle it's ok and this is what most everyone does anyway. But if you try to pull back on the throttle hard to 1/4 or 1/2 throttle you laugh in your helmet. But trust me cblast it's just much more instant power, no real lag like if your driving to slow in to high of a gear.

Actually another big difference is if your running thru the gears you'll be shocked at how much quicker you'll hit the redline. When I first did it I tried pinning thru the gears and I hit the redline hard a couple of times thinking I had more time. It get there alot quicker than stock thats for sure. But you'll see. When you get it go for a nice long ride to feel it at different places. Like I said I love the roll ons now. Instant power that puts you back in your seat when you nail the gas, and also when your just cruising around in 6th gear and just hit the gas at around 70 or 80 and you think your in 4th gear or something. When you get it done c start a new thread so we can discuss it further. I'll be waiting for your new thread. It'll be titled probably something like I just love zxracer or something like that!!!!!!!!!

Yup, gearing is the single most important thing you can do to make your bike accellerate quicker. It is also the cheapest! I have swapped gears many times on my BKing. They flat out rock! I'm using highway gears now, but it I go back to down one in front, it will rip my arms off and wheelie like crazy. You guys will like the gear change if you don't get the stumbling. Also, do NOT worry about it running 400 to 600 rpm higher in 6th gear. It will mess with your brain for a short time until you get used to it. The motor can EASILY take running in 6th gear for running down the highway cruising and running up miles on the bike. So, ignore the slightly higher rpm at cruising and enjoy. Your motor was built to run a LOT higher rpm than your normal cruising speeds on the freeway of 100 mph.

You will enjoy the new found accelleration! Good Luck!

WATTHELL!!?

Blip-blip-light goes green-I'm in between cars-clutch out-Blip the blat the splathell?!? Oh is L3 about a pit mode position-the car on my left I could not shake from a dead stop-nor had time to look for that cop in his favorite hiding place was he pulled a semi-hauler over.

You pile of poo was that too fast a reaction? Impressive. That L3 would not let me even rev'&'feed [the clutch in] for a holeshot out the gate. F1 is no problem. I'm just sneaking up on these real slow. And since I slowed down, my rear tire looks brand new.

C I threw my comment about drinking tequila as I too was completely lost about the convo, so I just added what I felt like drinking as the thread is making my head spin ( I was lost too). When in doubt, and you have no idea what people are thinking about it, suggest alcohol!?

C eye threw in the, "I had an intervention" happen and to the best of my assfactoreaderegistered watt felt like a lot of fuel dumping, a lot of ignition retard, and if I had a camera aimed at the sub's shaft, I could swear they mixed all 3 of those together and it cleaned up the more I took off, as if I took the choke off one of them there whoshewhatsits? Anyone ever hear of a car beer rate tear? Yeah, like one of those is.

RE: Traction control is quick

I have been finding that if I aggressively but smoothly apply throttle at the limits of adhesion, the TC in mode 1 intervenes gradually enough to allow some impressive drives. It is happening so fucking fast though! This bike is so quick everything is fing 'warp speed captain!' :))) If I am being truly fast and zen, I try to forget everything and just flow and I don't remember the little details. With TC off, there is a smoother feel and a harder midrange pull. I just have to concentrate on firm but smooth. I get that dang ignition interrupt TC stutter thing in mode 2 early off my exits. 2 is fine for wet stuff! :)) the stock tires are my massive limiting factor right now. I am trying to roast em as fast as I can!!
