The Loverboy album cover was just a joke. I really think you should go with a red suit with black accents. It would go well with the all black Ninja 1000. It might work with the Ducatis too.

Not that the black suite with white doesn't go well on the Ninja 1k. Looks cool!

Here ya go! Get in perforated. https://amsducati.com/ducati-corse-c6-leather-jacket-by-dainese-in-red-red-black?srsltid=AfmBOoqGTJ9J17jcib43wAOdx19kHpfE3-P2poZ7GJogapR6WkNDc4l1Xfk I sure wish they made a pair of pants to match. Why not try a one piece? I think that's what I'm going with for my next leathers. It's unacceptable that I can't fit in my old B/W Alpine Stars leather pants but I think a one piece would provide a lot more range in the gut area being that you don't need to count on the waist size to hold the pants up. A one piece is just a whole lot safer if you go down too. Man I wish I could have fit in my leather pants when I crashed. I'da had no injuries. Still don't mind the injuries compared to loosing that old ZX-14. I mean, I'm glad I didn't die or sustain permanent brain injuries but having that beautiful bike get destroyed just crushed me. I'm so jealous of the new guys coming on here who own MS Blue 08s. That was the best color for the ZX-14 ever and I was lucky enouigh to jump in when they had that in 08.

The last one will work with any bike but that's the kind of look I'd go with on the Ducatis. I didn't know your two Ducatis looked so similar. Except for the fender, they look identical. ...and the 1299 is what, twelve years old? I suppose the 900 feels a little smaller? It looks just like the legendary 1299 though. Being such a classic, there has been no need to update the look.

Both 1299 and 959 are 2016s, so eight years old, besides much bigger motor and 50 more HP and torque, the 1299 has a single sided swingarm, different front fender, different rear sets, different TFT display, 330 mm front brake rotors versus 320 mm rotors on 959, M50 Monobloc Brembos on 1299 versus M4.32 Brembos and different suspension components. 1299 is much a more refined and potent ride but they feel similar and too be honest, on the road, the speeds are not that much different.

Rook, which of these works best on the 1299, only difference is all black vs white/black pants?

It's hard for me to choose a clear winner here, both work well IMHO.

You know, I just realized I have about 15 more years of motorcycles in my future, I think. I only bought one bike in 13 years since my busa in 2011 and my 14 in 2008. I'm going to do a stage 2 turbo on my 14R and that will cost as much as a new bike. I have to replace or rebuild the 08 ZX-14. Will that mean I only will get ONE more bike in my life? That makes me a little sad. I at least need a S1000. Is that going to be the only other bike I own? For cripe's sake, this is kind of my life. I really want a Yamaha 600 too. At least there's no other option but to buy those used in the near future but what about all the other bikes I'd like to own? I might be able to muster up 5 by the time I can't ride anymore. If I get a shitpile of money, I can't spend it on bikes at this point in life. If it's a really big shitpile, I guess I might be able to buy one or maybe two. Fortunately I've been blessed with vitality like you John. We might have crappy health underneath but the outside just keeps going. There will come a day to lay down and rest a while. It's not gonna be a vacation rest but it will be a rest and then the bikes are just to look at a while.

Dam Rook, you've suddenly turned into a philosopher, you sound almost like the Hub.... The way I see it is like the Spanish saying,"Que Sera Sera", loosely translated, "Whatever's going to happen is going to happen". You might have 15 years left on your program before you get your final ticket punched or maybe not, we just don't know, nobodies guaranteed their next breath. So live life to it's fullest each and every day, that's why I'm buying all the bikes and gear, rather do that then let my money sit in a bank somewhere and depreciate. I'm not taking any of it with me, that is a fact. Look at the positive side, you have more bikes already than probably 99% of the planet, what you really need is to start riding what you have....a lot! Peace out bro, just my .02

It will be a few months before I can ride anything. I have some time to do some modding now. My daughter said she wants to get a motorcycle. She also said she's scared to death of them. I don't know what I think about that. I would rather see her be a track only rider. Get this, Amanda's cousin, my daughter in law is into motorcyling. She does track days with her guy. They own some fast bikes and cars. I didn't know they were into it that much. He has a red Aprilia RSV4.

Yea, I'd be kind of leery too if my daughter wanted to ride, that is a scary thought. That is pretty cool your daughter-in-law is in trackdays with her husband though. What year RSV4 do they have?

IDK what year it is. He was showing pics of their track days at various circuits and he came to his Aprilia. I thought it was a ducati because of the color but I asked and he told me it was an RSV4. Of course, I told him you had one of those and about your other bikes. I see the 2017/2018 has a lot of red. That could be it.

Rook, give me a call sometime to catch up, we haven't talked in a very long time. You have a weird work schedule these days, hard to know when you're home...

Yeah, I go to sleep when most people are waking up. I'm breaking the schedule now because I had a few days off for the holiday. It's nice to see the sun even if it is 25 degrees outside.

Weather here has been fantastic, perfect blue sky, lots of sunshine and 64 F temperature, it doesn't get any better than this for riding. Todays Extrema activity, note the Christmas lights on the trees and the Christmas wreath on the lamp post behind me.

Rook, this combination is really starting to grow on me, it's busy but overall, I think it works well..

Hubster, this was on my Saturday morning ride, I'm on my 2020 BMW S1000RR chasing one of your California canyon racer boys on his 2022 S1000RR, he was smooth, was having trouble staying with him...

Ignore the guy on the white 1198 Ducati going head to head with me at 7 seconds, he's a buddy of mine and said he knew it was me and wasn't worried...

Yeah Kruz, he'd get you in the corners. Other than that, you were both even in the straights. Was that cali boy a transplant, or just visiting?

He's on an extended stay here Hub, he moved out from San Diego to take care of his elderly mother and now that she has passed, he's having to deal with settling the estate. He's got a toy box like mine, 2022 BMW S1000RR, 2020 ZX-10R, 2018 Yamaha R6 and a 2008 CR1000RR.

Yes, if the corner is billiard table smooth he has my measure, if the corners are rough then all bets are off and I can usually catch and pass him, I don't mind 'em a little rough....

Same dude Hubster, same bikes but on a rough ass road this time with a stretch of very sketchy gravel road repairs around 7:54.

Looks like you have a better line/setup than him. Too spooked to take it fast in the streets. Johnny Law would hook the bike with my luck.

That was my take Hub,we run completely different lines through the corners, he stays in tight while I go wide on corner entry, square it up and shoot it out. Get him on a smooth flowing road and I can't stay with him but those are rare out here.

Kruz, I study the lines when I drive/ride. It's all about chasing the "Smooth" line. Can't tell if the bike was rearing up or flexing holding the corner on your recent vids.

My deal is riding slow, studying the in and pushing the out of an apex. You're smooth but have a squiggly or wha-wha line. It's going to take years to find that line. Did for me.

WOT my take is having a love affair with the road's turns. Line out to the left, I abort it if I time in with a car meeting at the apex. Sure, I'll be in lane 1 (of a full land of 3), but not touching the painted line if not meeting up, but more tag at it. I use that as I'm off the track I go over a line in the road.

You'll know you're doing it right is to go slow and steady at the speed limit or a little above. But with your radar, you can hop it up some.

But then again, I think that's going to spoil the aim of smooth. The (slow) smooth makes you faster. So WOT I do is speed up my vid to watch the smoothing of it all.
