well guys, I am a happy camper with my jeffo map on my 08 with PC 5, the TPS set correctly according to jeffo's instructions, and the accelerator pump enabled.
with a ZX 14's ram air scoop, would be tough to reproduce actual riding conditions on the dyno, maybe hook up some sort of high speed blower to the ram air while on the dyno....? Wonder if any of the dyno tuners have tried anything like that? My bike will be going back to the dyno, and I will run a zero map, the fuel moto map, and the jeffo map to compare the three.
here in western Canada fall has come early and hard, weather forecast for next three days is light snow, so my riding season is coming to an end. The early snow will melt, I am sure, and I may be able to ride to maybe end of October if I am lucky, then that will be it for the year and I'll then trailer the bike for a dyno session or two. I will report back once the bike has been on the dyno.
I am using my ZX 14 as a sport tourer, superbike bar on bar backs, GIVI hard bags, etc., and the one thing I really don't like with my exhaust modifications is the significantly increased level of noise, becomes quite annoying after a few hundred miles even with custom ear plugs in place, the stock exhaust, as ugly and heavy as it is, is starting to look attractive from a purely functional lower noise level perspective, I may have a go at some point at re-installing the stock exhaust and see how well the stock quiet configuration can be tuned and mapped, in which case I will give jeffo another call for another map set up for a stock exhaust.... The guys at Yoshimura were straight up with me when I was shopping for an aftermarket exhaust, Yosh said that the ZX 14 stock mufflers were very well designed, excellent for developing good power, and the Yosh dual slip ons would only be good for a 3 - 5 horsepower increase, I am going to have to decide if I am willing to sacrifice a few horsepower for a much lower level of exhaust noise for longer trips......
