Yeah I hear you Kruz. What are you going to do with the other CBR? Did you think of selling both the ZX-10 and Honda and using that to get the MV Agusta. Or maybe you just wanna add up to your collection and be the Jay Leno of motorcycles? Personally, I'm a ride till the wheels fall off kind a guy. I enjoy driving or riding something I'm not making payments on rather than something new so trade ins are a no no. You probably like to hold on to your bikes as well. I was also just recently thinking that depending on how much I like the track and how often I can get to it I could go for the 1290 R, a tuono or a Triple. Both would hold their own on a track and would be fun around town! They would also introduce me to a different group of riders which would be refreshing.

The old CBR is different enough, familiar but still different, that I will probably keep it. I got a few more miles on the new CBR today and it is turning into a midrange beast, it's a rocket when you keep it in the meat of the power, 6,000 to 11,000 rpm, lots of fun! This bike has no real bad manners, it does everything well, can't wait to get it out into the twisties and see what it can really do.

I may become the next Jay Leno of bikes, well not quite, my garage is too small and near capacity now. That 1290 Super Duke would be a blast and they are fast! I saw one on the Nurburgring pretty much holding it's own with an S1000RR.

All the bikes are keepers I think, every one of them was a best of class machine (except VTX) in it's era so they're still relevant.

I WISH! Way out of my league. Plus I can't spend that much $$ on something that I'm going to get cramps on. I'm not ready to buy but tomorrow I'm going to take another test ride on that 675R and the S1000RR. I will also go check the 2014 ZX-10R but doubt they will let me take it out.

Let me know your thoughts on each. I now have almost 200 miles on the new CBR1000RR and it is rapidly becoming my favorite bike. Starting to loosen up now, huge midrange power with endlessly entertaining 3rd gear power wheelies.
Handling, brakes, ergos, power and fueling are all top notch. This is probably the finest road machine ever made, for track I don't know but probably a real weapon on the shorter tracks. Up to about 130 -140 mph it doesn't give up anything to the S1000RR, beyond that the BMW will pull it. 80 to 100 mph rollons this thing will kill the BMW and ZX-10R. Ride the heck out the ZX-10R and BMW back to back but that 675R is a fantastic middle weight, can't really go wrong with any of them, whatever fits your budget.

Nice ride reports kruz. Very informative first hand experience on your new ride. I picked mine up Thursday as I hoped and ordered a few mods for it. Still has 00000 on the odo. Only ran it for maybe 45 seconds once so far just to hear the exhaust. Hopefully I will get some seat time next week - weather permitting. Here are a few pics of it.
Grabbed a few more farkles on Friday which need to go on the bike next week when I have time, then hopefully break-in time.

Beautiful machine Beast and I'm digging that bike lift in the garage. My Targa fender eliminator came in and I'm going to try to go put it on right now. No other mods planned for now, I like the quiet stock pipe, may leave it alone for awhile. The R6 is known for some really knife edge handling, enjoy!

Congrats Kruz! Sweet ride! I have to say I love my 10R. After all the mods what a difference. I find myself riding her way more than my 14. It's just so damn light and so freaking fast! So glad I bought the second bike. If all goes well I'm gonna bring home a 1290 super duke this January. I love the way they look! It's gonna be hard telling the wife she's got to keep her car outside but what the hell! Lol

Lookin good Somefun, yea juries still out on which bike I like best , my 10R or the new CBR, both very fast and sweet handling, brakes etc., the Honda has the killer midrange and the 10R has the top end covered.

Yeah I hear you... After adding my re flash, gearing change, rifelmans, quick shifter, Sato rear sets and BST wheels and a few other mods I can't stay off this thing! My God what a blast to ride. I have a parking lot that is empty on the weekends that I ride at and rip it up. I've finally found the TC limits. It's so sick dragging a knee and feeling that rear tire start sliding and not having a concern. Lol

Thanks man! That's just the ones off the top of my head. Lol I'm a modding junkie. I've also added Brembo front calipers with Goodrich lines and EBC HH double sintered pads front and rear with a rear Galfer rotor and EBC front rotors.... Re valved the steering damper, 520 chain and sprocket conversion, Brembo RCS19 master cylinder and matching clutch lever and to top it all off a EBC Kevlar clutch, HD spring kit with pilot power three's. The last things will be Olines front n rear.....:)

Yeah I've got it bad

Smart moves Somefun! The RCS19 made a huge difference... As if I needed more braking power lol I use the 19X20 setting. Some say it's overkill for the street but I find it more suitable because of the weight of the 14. What setting are you using on the ZX-10 and what brembo calipers did you get?

I don't remember what year they started doing it but now the Ohlins shock for the ZX-10 comes with a plug that goes into the ECU and works with the TC. You should look into that!

Kruz, I wasn't able to make it out to the dealers but hopefully this weekend.

Drag I went with the mono blocks and after I installed them I found I needed the RCS mater. I'm actually not sure what setting its on as bad as that sounds. But I can tell you one thing it works so go that I'm actually working on my one finger stoppies! Lol. I get the back end up pretty easy but holy crap what a weird feeling trying to learn them. I really want to get good at them... I've started at 28 mph and now have worked my way up to 34 but that's about it. It's scary as hell slamming on the front brake at that speed to try and life the rear wheel off the ground. It goes against all logic lol. On the Ohlins I will definitely be going with the one that plugs into the ECU.. This thing handles so good after I raised the rear 5mm it's unbelievable. I can't wait to see what it does after that stuff is installed. But I'm gonna save that for my winter project because I'm going to need something to do. :)

I agree! Nice looking set up Somefun! Most guys tend to run 19x18 for street and rain and 19x20 for track and race but I find the 19x20 setting to suit me better. I'm just really careful when it's wet. There is definitely more feel with the 19x18 so everything is a trade off. As you must know, it's really easy to change setting: just remove the rubber cap by the lever and turn clockwise or counter clockwise. If I remember correct the 19x18 setting is green and the 19x20 red. Keep us updated with the mods, I'm really interested in seeing what works with the ZX-10. One good thing: I would be able to use the same wheels and leave the other bike on crutches lol

What about Kruz. Are you planning any more mods? What kind of exhaust?
