There's a fun road to ride with beautiful scenery too. Not much wildlife either, I take it.

BTW Hub, what code you use to embed videos here. Whatever I used to do doesn't seem to work anymore.

I meant something like this...

No offense Hub but at that pace, I'd probably fall asleep and ride off in to the scenery....

Kruz, that kind of pace gets the hook and handcuffs here. I just go fast enough for a speeding ticket. Man, that 600 buggies. Cool vid.

Understood Hubmeister, I enjoy watching Max Wrist videos but way too many seem to end up like this...not cool!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYXHzTO8vLA

Do you agree with what this cop did Hub? In my opinion, a clear abuse of power arresting Max months after the so called infraction.

No, cop wants a promotion and digging for straws. Shows and sounds like Max came late to the party and saw the dust, then stopped. Weird how the guy took a slight snooze, woke up and had no clue what happened. That was interested nodding out like that.

Looks like both crashes were tight apexes. I like the long outside and tag the apex were these guys pulled the trigger grafting or climbing the mountain.

Sounds like Max is not throttle smooth. You can tell a smooth rider by the note of the engine. They are not on and off of the throttle, meaning.

Yep but Max is undeniably quick in the canyon runs, I rarely see anyone he can't stay with.

No, cop wants a promotion and digging for straws.

A lot of speculation on that point Hub, Max's girlfriend accused the cop of trying to become famous by arresting Max Wrist. Who knows what the guys real motives were but his job is law enforcement...period, he's not judge, jury and executioner.

This ride is in SoCal, your back yard Hub, was that you doing the 12 O'clock on the S1000RR? A lot of highly illegal activity and no LEO in sight..

Orange county is more a flat valley. This was more a brand new road for me. Here was a weekend run with the trackday boys. Was spooked there was a LEO around the bend somewhere so I more took it easy. But to know the apex or setup is to find any road easy to follow.

This is what I more meant is to find and work the smooth... Besides, this is a heavy bike and not a sprinter like a light weight R1 or ape.

Yep Hub, we're all chasing the smooth but the road condition and pace dictates a lot of that, I've noticed the roads in Cali are pretty smooth compared to our FM (Farm/Market) roads here in Texas which are very rough by comparison, more like a high speed motocross track. You take what you have available and make the best of it...

Drove to Huston for Thanks Giving. That was on the 10 most of the time. I'll trade your 10 for any freeway here. Then rode on the 405 to San Pedro. Took the diamond lane and talk about a head shake. Luckily the 14 is on a rail taking on the bumps and back crunching abrupt rises over the overpass bridges that walk up (slams the back) or trail over and catch air, The flight down is bone charring on the landing. And this is at speed limit speeds.

Nephew calls it the name that is contracted with the county to patch or redo the roads. In other words the son took over the business.

Been running that route and know where the back crunching places are. But hit them hard anyway. Mostly forget where they are, but can remember the area and then it's too late. LOL

Finding something to eat once the GP's are over for the day, your two lane is like the freeways here. One long light and the row of cars ahead is staggering. A slow route to china is more like it.

Funny how we both can say I'll stick with my roads than yours.

I was judging by the Max Wrist videos, I think he does Ortega Highway and Angeles Crest which appear pretty smooth but could be wrong....

Houston or Huston Hub? If you did I-10 to Houston then yes, that is a billiard table compared to the farm roads around here. I used to live in Houston, flat as a pancake and very few twisty roads, west of Austin in the Texas Hill Country is the best riding here. The Three Sisters aka "The Twisted Sisters" is a favorite but cannot compare to Tail of the Dragon or some of your rides there in Cali.

Angeles Crest on a weekend, road looks smooth but way too much traffic, too much drama and too many LEO patrolling.

Looks like an old episode from Streets of San Francisco, cops with guns drawn at the end, never seen that shit here.

Is that a radar detector I see on the camera bike at :45 seconds? Are they even legal in Cali?

How about Mulholland Drive?

The crest is about an hour or more away from me. Crest is hangout riding up to Newcomb's Ranch. Kind of like the Rock Store closer to me. Going up the canyon is closed off their due to the bikes running The Snake. Crest is way too crowded and lots of crashes/deaths. Notorious place. Where I went was with a buddy who rides with others on the weekend. Less traffic, hidden diners out in nowhere, but still busy with cars and bikes,

Detectors are legal here. Can't obstruct the windshield and all that.

Mulholland is blocked off from the rain last year still. Most of those roads are lightly uses and they have to keep it open for the fires, ambulance, cops anshit. Patches sure, smooth yes.

I use spell check, so not a great speller. LOL

Here is The Snake. Rock Store is immediately to my left waiting to go, and ends at the stop sign. This is cut off due to the neighbors complaining every weekend. Porches and Ferraris run these roads too:

Max goes down again, one small rock in the road and his R1 burns to the ground but he's OK, the guy must have nine lives Hub.

This is why I don't like to do wheelies...

Sad for both. That rock was bad news. Guy had no chance to save it. The wheelie looked typical. But man, wad a bill for parts. Makes me sick just thinking of it.

Open roads have that certain danger of variables like rocks, car in your lane, you in their lane, gravel, wind blown sections of leaves, all kinds of shit going on.

Closed course is much safer, legal, less odds and such. One reason why I don't hang it out that aggressively in the streets.

I noticed the R1 had the grips wired off. Couldn't tell if it was at the other 2 sections, though. He can read tires, so I'm thinking he has some sort of trackday or race experience. Like you said, he can keep up and catch up with the fast guy(s).

Yea Max is definitely quick but man he sure crashes a lot but keeps getting lucky with no serious injuries. I go down hard once almost 10 years ago and I was hospitalized for 5 days and got a bill for $38K for the medivac flight, $160K for hospital treatment and followup.

Not sure how he keeps dodging the bullet when a lot of his riding buddies end up jacked.

Because he's at that edge of videography. Keep those vids going for $$ so he can rotate his rides. Shit man, I'm counting 16 crashes and rather stop at one LOL.

Believe it or not, I bought the first 14 for a suicide mission. Got into learning FI with all the wiring on the bike, I crashed the first one, stood up and my back pain was gone. Can't sleep in a bed, but the constant pain I had was gone forever.

Too spooked to trackday or I'd be pushing my luck for a fall, and who knows what my next ride would be? I'm thinking wheelchair. One day I heard something crack. Next thing I know I can't feel my legs. Took me away off the floor of my bedroom.

Needless to say that was the crash that saved my life. Best feeling walking away from that one.

HA!,,, "OG Squid" was his name? Yea, that boy could scoot. Looked like a retired race bike. No mirrors, number 30 on the tail, and looked like he was on slicks. Well at least the rear looked like no rain grooves on it. Big difference with good tires under you. Ever tried slicks, Kruz?

The run with Cali Boy looked a lot better with your lines. Used most of the lane as you lines looked much smoother. "Way too slow..." brought out the smooth.

Nope, I run RS11s and Pirelli Super Corsa SP V4s exclusively depending on the bike, DOT legal track biased tires. I posted on several forums on using slicks on the road and got a lot of negative feedback, bottom line, no one thought it was a good idea.

Watch closely Hub, his lines are "squiglee"and he's arguably the fastest canyon racer in California, I noticed he flicks the bike over very quickly as I prefer to do (quick countersteer on late corner entry) he's just a lot quicker at it than I am. Same thing with Hickman on his 137 mph average speed IOMTT record breaking run, it hardly looks smooth but it is a blindingly fast pace no one can match. I think I look smoother in that last video because I'm in cruise mode behind Cali.
