Call Me Darth Privateer
08/26/11 9:36 AM

I have been converted to the Dark Side. You may henceforth call me Darth Privateer.

Today I made a deal with Williamsport Harley Davidson to purchase a 2012 CVO Ultra Classic Electra Glide in Wicked Saphhire color.

CVO is custom vehicle operations, meaning it is hand painted, hand assembled, and has everything they can hang on it installed.

Thanks to the VA for assisting me in converting to the Dark Side.

If my ZX14 doesn't sell, I'll have 2 bikes. So be it. You don't know the POWER of the Dark Side!

I'll let you know if I can quit my job in a week or so, after the monetary award is signed off (3 signatures needed from Department of Labor) and they tell me what it is. It is enough for the bike, but the question is, how much MORE is it. LOL.

you and me both. I won't be doing it in quite the style you will (like usual) though.

I, however, refuse to succumb to the urge to rev my bike for no reason. LOL

Darn thing has dual Brembo 4-pot discs up front. Rotors, calipers. With ABS built into the wheel hub.

Electronic cruise control, and the unit is barely bigger than a switchpod on my ZX14.

Air shock system, with controls on the dashboard.

And I'm glad it has a hydraulic clutch, I'm spoiled by the ZX14's hydraulic clutch.

They even include liners for the luggage and a 8GB IPOD Nano, lol.

And a Garmin 660 motorcycle GPS, which I will sell and put my 665 on instead, with the M40 smart antenna. I purchased the 665 before Garmin offered to comp me a 665 for my 550, so now I will have two. One stays on the ZX14, one goes on the Harley.

I really need to sell my ZX14, otherwise its going to sit under a cover feeling abandoned.

OMG I just got this. Me too, if the damn thing won't idle I'll take it in for service. No need to blip the throttle to know if its running, either. Its not THAT quiet.

When they call and say its there, I'll go over and take some digital pictures. It will look exactly like the Wicked Sapphire paint version of the 2012 CVO Ultra is on the Harley Davidson site, 2012 bikes section, last bike on the scroller to the right.

I figure, I ain't getting any younger, and I want to ride all over the country, and I'll never have the money again (that I could imagine) to do this, so here I go.......

Besides, it hurts too much to ride the ZX14 anymore, even with the handlebar work I did. Someone without my cervical and nerve damage problems would find it very comfortable to do long distances on.

I think next spring I'll leave out of Western Maryland on a zig-zag course across America, and just let my hair and beard grow as long as they want to grow. And see who I can meet, and what I can see and learn.

Lol blue07, take a chill pill.

I sat on C14s, several times. Rode one around up in VT. The seating position is still not going to work for me. In fact, my ZX14 has, in some ways, a better seating position as it has been modified.

Fr8, thanks. Will be the first I've owned. Last time I rode a Harley Davidson was when I was 15-16 and rode dad's panhead. Which in my case qualifies as ancient history.

The dealer called me, I can go over and look at it today. Didn't expect it for 3 weeks, but they had a 2012 trike a dealer in New York wanted and that dealer had the 2012 CVO Ultra in Wicked Sapphire I want, so they traded.

Nice choice Priv! The CVO bikes from Harley are the sh#$! No better way to get a custom ride for the $$$$. Don't forget to visit the fit shop and make it a total custom built just for you! I'm not a big Harley fan, but a buddy of mine bought one of those in '09. I'll have to admit, I drooled a little... I might go for something like that when I grow up as well. Enjoy the new ride and say hello to the rest of America in style!

To me, any way you can enjoy the sport, whether it be blazingly fast, in the twisties, or cruising for miles on end, is GREAT!
