Sup Guys and Gals,

Maybe someone can show me, or tell me: What is the difference in the Color Red at the 2006 model and the 2010 model?

Has anyone seen them both in Red? I have the feeling the 2010 red is darker, but im not sure because i cannot find any good pictures of em, just the 'photoshopped' kind of pictures from Kawasaki as:

The 06 is lighter. It is not a hot orange light red. It is slightly white.

The 2010 red is almost burgundy red. Lighter and warmer than what I normally would consider maroon or burgundy. Dark blood red, I guess I would say.

I'm on a Mac and I don't think the swatches represent the colors very well. Just a basic idea. The 06 passion red is a great color but Not the ferrari scarlet red you might think. It is a slightly whitened color which prolly resists fading quite well.

Yeah, i have that Dark blood red idea too from the 2010 model, but i cannot find any REAL pictures from it. Have you seen any on the net besides the photoshopped models from the Kawa site?

There was at least one member on this site with a red '11. I saw the bike in person at my stealership. Beautiful color. Bean has that color but it is not an 11. His was some other year but being Austrlian, they had the good stuff before the rest of us could get our hands on it.

Bean has lots of pics up. I have not heard from old Bean in a while. Kind of quiet since the new 14 came out....

I don't know if this will help. I tried to pick accurate colored pics. The 2010 is from a post by WILDWOODS77 from this site.

Those white stripes on the side btw, how did you do those exactly? Did u ask a painter to do that or?

The fins are silver and Beanster did that himself. Has a thread around here somewhere about the fin painting.

I'm doing mine blue in the recessed lines with white fins-------soon I hope.

Gunna attempt to highlight the fins on them, when the battery is charged I will post a new picture of what it looks like (before/pre-test and after) I would like it to look like a "Satin chrome" similar to my exhaust finish ! Oh well we will soon know if IT is OK or if it sucks "TEST"

By the way... My bike has those thick, silver stickers which says ZZR1400 and Kawasaki.

You guys think i should order a new set of those stickers, or leave em off?

I've been looking at mine for a long enough time that I would like a change. I'd leave 'em off. You could always stick a new emblem on later if you decide you want it back.

I do like the ZZR emblem better than the ZX-14 emblem we have in the US.

LGR, That's a SEXY pair you have! The ZX14 looks HOT in red for sure. This Thursday i'am bringing my parts away to get my bike painted. Costs like 900 bucks

Btw, the LOWER fairing on the 2010 RED model is painted red, and the 2006 red model isnt. Is the fairing exactly the same though? Because The lower fairing feels more raw and isnt the same as the rest of the fairings (prolly protection against little stones etc.)

Is that gonna be a problem to get painted at all at the shop?

Excellent question. never heard that topic brought up before. I was not sure what you meant at first but that is probably because my 08 has lowers made of same material as all the other body panels. Maybe the mat black lowers are made from a softer, more resillient plastic.

I doubt very much it will matter for painting.

Either way, they're both fast machines. Ahahaha. Check out mine in the photos forum.

Never gets old to see that Red on the ZX14!

Sjeez! OK! The bike is Naked now.
WHAT A HELL OF A JOB! Took me like .. 3 hours??
Most of the trouble was at the front. There were alot of hidden places with screws etc.

I was thinking by the way.. standard back-wheel at the ZX14 is a 190mm right? What's the NEXT size after the 190mm? And is that a size that needs a swingarm?
