proven exhaust?
04/23/15 11:29 AM

Added a new ZX14R and looking at options, my concours14 went from 132bhp/89tq to 156/99tq SAE on the same dyno with just the AreaP exhaust and PCV, any jumps like that or bang for the buck on the ZX14r?

Brocks exhaust system and a ECU Flash. Even if you only get moderate HP increase the power hits SO MUCH harder after a good flash. Nannie is gone and secondary flies open a lot earlier.

Yes sir, I did pull the flies too though. My Dyno charts look almost exactly the same as others that had the same exact mods, could not tell any difference and they were different bikes, dynos and parts of the country, pretty wierd with all the talk about dyno numbers. Later I added ZX14 throttle body's and pulled those flies, top end hp was exactly the same but it made a really nice bump in mid to upper range, second gear power wheelie's were easier.
When comparing my dyno chart with earlier ZX14's posted on this forum, it seems the numbers are mostly pretty comparable to lightly modded earlier ones that the concours is based on.

I looked at the dyno charts that are posted at AreaP and fuelmoto, when a few people did those same mods and posted their results and they were the same, I did it and got the same dyno results too, worked out great (everyone had different dyno's and bikes, pretty amazing!!!). Hoping to find that kind info here. Pretty nice consistant, repeatable gains and a nice pop in power for about $1200.

Other than the so called "safety mode" you are not going to get those kind of gains
with the 14R, there are a lot of good pipes, I think your best "mod" would be to have
the ECU flashed, will wake up that power band even MORE !!!

Im not sure about the Gen 2 comparisons, but on the Gen 1, the Muzzy M10 won a shoot out
in a magazine shoot out, but like I said, there are a lot of good pipes ...

Just my 2 cents ....

Look, just get the exhaust you like that looks the best and sounds the best for you. The little numbers +/- 5hp ain't going to do jack shit for you unless you're like a world class rider.

So if you like M10s, get that. If you like Yosh, TB, or Hindle get that. I went with Yosh R-77 because I liked how it looks and sounds and knocked a few pounds off. As far a dyno numbers WGAS?!
