Thanks dragking. That was an amazing documentary on the TT. I'm out for a ride after that, it's sunny and 50f here in SE Texas.

I have a question that's been bugging me for some time, all the MotoGP superstars are about a buck thirty to a buck forty, I think Spies and Hayden are a little heavier, maybe 160 lbs.

John McGuiness is not a lightweight, I'm not saying he's fat by any stretch but he is a big guy, every bit of 200 lbs plus I'm guessing and he seems to go around corners really well.

54 F here today in Big D and lots of sunshine, I rode everything I could, forecast in the mid 60s later in the week. It's about time, I was starting to get cabin fever!

What I thought ever since I saw him. He was quite sveldt as a lad but as the years and the trophies piled up ...so did his waistline pile on. reminds me so much of the classic "experience v youth" archetype. His years of experience offset the youthful advantages that are no longer.

The pleasure is all mine guys!

@Kruz: Michael Dunlop and John McGuiness are both "healthy lads" but they are not obese, I don't see why they wouldn't great at road racing. You're comparing them to Moto GP which is an entirely different world: Different bikes, different terrain, different riders. It's like comparing Rally Racing with F1. You could probably have a little belly and win Moto GP races but there is so much money involve in it, factories make sure you hit the treadmill. Colin Edwards doesn't do anything and he says that the year he tried cycling for conditioning was is worst. In my opinion, fitness became big in Moto GP just because of amount of riding the riders do (testing, R&D, qualifying, races). You body needs to be able to endure that so the mind can relax and focus. TT racers don't ride that much.

Good point. Plus let's face it racing motorcycles or cars is easier on the body than most sports. Think about it, Max Biaggi is 40 plus years old and still kicking butts half his age. Except for Golf and a few other sports (that I wouldn't call sports), it's not happening.

He's 5'9" and weighs 174 lbs according to his official site. That surprises me, he looks like a much bigger man in the videos.

My favorite rider! Did you see what he did to Guy Martin at the Ulster (the hairpin overtake) I think it was in 2011! I have a picture of him in a magazine, going pass an American new comer in an Ireland race. He passed the guy pulling a wheelie. You've got to win but if you're not having fun doing it...

He's 5'9" and weighs 174 lbs according to his official site. That surprises me, he looks like a much bigger man in the videos.

I saw a picture of him and that sounds about right. The only thing he's got is a belly. He wears his leathers on the baggy side and he's always around tiny guys so that doesn't help!

Dragking, mad love for the video. Knee surgery has me laid up and I loved the privateer perspective. It is on my bucket list, or at least what I plan to spend my lottery winnings on.
