fuel gauge?
09/13/10 1:26 PM

Hey there,, on my ZX's fuel gauge there about 5 rectangular dark blocks for the fuel level. I have noticed when I fill up with gas I can go about 75 miles or so without the indicator moving, finally it goes down one block at a time. Are yours the same way or do I have a lazy level indicator somehow.?

My 08 is about the same.... 60 to 80 miles for the first then it's a waterfall for the rest.......

I cried because I could not wheelie. Till I met a man with no motorcycle....

SAME Here on my 08. I was in the habit of topping off past the splash guard and i think that makes a big dif.

BTW, I had some trouble with my gas tank lock getting stiff. I think the octane from gas builds up in the lock if you overfill.

little squirt of graphite in the key hole works great after it works around. Just wipe it off good before putting in the ignition.

The fuel gauge is probably not an issue. I think it's us filling our tanks past where they are considered full. I think we need another sight glass like they have for checking oil. Raise the bike to vertical to check on a cold engine.
