M4's
01/23/12 4:57 PM

Putting M4 slip-ons on as soon as they show up...shouldn't need a pc yet should I? Don't have the cash to go all out but I do like the sound for just being slip-ons. Anybody have the M4's ?

I have always heard you don't need a PC for slipons. Full system, i would get it on there before you run the bike. Even more for an 06-07 which was leaner stock map than the 08-11.

Tell you the truth, I never any mods without a PC except flies out. that was improved once the PC went in with a simple DJ map. M<UCH improved after I got a better map and pretty darn near flawless after I Autotuned.

I ran the M4s for awhile. LOVED them. They were loud though. I lugged bike in neighborhood to keep it civilized. Not too bad until rpms are up. Topend whine was very satisfying. I did run a PC3. Seat of the pants, yes was a diff between map for them, and stock map. Also had my 'flies out. Sold them both when I thought bank was going to get the bike. Will probably buy another set soon for it.

Aye mad5674 I was wondering what took somebody so long to ask that. I have m4s. I love m4s. I fell in love with them every since I laid eyes on them. I couldnt tell you how many times i went on youtube to see them and how they sound. They sound just as good in person as they do on youtube. Iwas debating between m4s or yoshi r22. Glad i got the m4s. I did not notice any power gain or lost. It seem the same. My take off is the same. I don't have it mapped. I just put them on and started riding. The only difference was the rpms. The m4s started atabout 2000 rpms at take off. While stock was right at 0 rpms during take off. So with the m4s I started changing gears at higher rpms. Itwas 1000-4000 rps now it's like 2500-6000 rpms before i changed to first gear. Im not racing or anything like that. Just my regular take off. I don't understand why it does that. I was on e bay everyday looking for the cheapest ones. I got lucky and found some brand new in the box for $322. Everybody was hating on me. They still do cause i got them so cheap. Mad get them. Iv had mines for 8 months now and never had a problem. I have and 09 special edition orange and black.

O yeah one more thing. They are loud as shit from first gear to fourth gear, but once you hit 5th gear on the highway you can't even hear them for all the wind. Average speed 70-90.

Yeah zx142009, I was describing the sound of them on my bike, already got them (new avatar shows them but not a great pic). I paid full price tho, you got one heck of a deal! Not sure what you mean about take off rpm's?? 0 stock, 2000 with the M4's ??? HUH?? Idle is 1050-1150 n I can take off from that and shift at whatever rpm I want. Don't know what you mean at all?? They are loud but sound amazing, like a GP superbike or like I said even an Indy car or F-1! BAD TO THE BONE!! :) I'm sure my 2 neighbors are glad I got them lol....but I've already got them used to the loud aftermarkets on the V-Twin :)

oops yeah that's about right at idle. With the stock the idle was at 0 from what I remember. I must have got the rpms mixed up. Ususally I shift at about 6000 rpms with the m4s. When I was riding stock I was shifting at 4000 rpms. This was going out of 1st gear. Sorry to confuse you. But I still love them.
