COG is organized on geographic region. The NorthEast (NE) region is basically Virginia north and east of Ohio.
The Area Director coordinates the region, and individual states within the region have Assistant Area Directors (AAD).
Maryland has been without one since the previous AAD had to resign due to time/family issues. He is a great guy and is still organizing rides and social events.
So I volunteered to take MD AAD until such time as they find someone better to do it.
If any of you long for a group to ride with (once you get to the event, its mostly solo getting there and back) you might find COG a good start. They will accept ZX14s without question, though you will get shunned a little until they get to know you.
This is not just Maryland, or even the NE region. It is all of the US, and we have 2 people come from England every year as sort of "exchange riders" and sent 2 there as well.

You can even register for the forum as a guest without joining COG, and sign up for events without joining COG (though you will pay more for the events with a signup fee than members will).
