I was having some inconsistent N-1 as described Bled Clutch Fluid Today. This has resolved my issue to satisfactory. It's still quite a heavy clunk/lurch compared to my old Honda, but nothing I'm conscious about riding.

Fort Wayne. I was just in your area on my zx14 a couple days ago when I got tired of the interstate and traveled all back roads across Indiana.

I don't like cleaning the rims. Such a PITA cleaning the dirt that gets trapped in the inside angle where the spoke connects to the outer part. It just piles up there.
I also wish there were better rear spool options. In the stock location, they can contact the exhaust.

Trans Clunk 101

http://www.kawasakipartshouse.com/oemparts/a/kaw/50aa38cbf8700226a414674d/clutch
13095 spins with the crank and never stops; see that outer gear around the 'clutch outer?'
13087A has to stop spinning so this does not spin with the main shaft it's splined to.
Friction plate is locked in the clutch outer (95) so those frictions spin with the engine.
Steel plates are locked to the grooves in the clutch inner (87A) and that is the main shaft spinning in this scenario.
Clunk = Clutch inner keeps spinning and that noise is the counter shaft that receives the clunk against a stationary shaft or the output shaft chained to the rear wheel and that wheel is no moving as is the counter or output shaft.
Clutch lever pulled in [for a long time] so the clutch center finally slows down some = Limited clunk to zero clunk noise.
Zero clunk = Place in gear before starting engine.
Turtle Trick = Stop engine at lights so the seconds add up to minutes, minutes to hours off the engine and zero clunk when the bike was in gear to start out: once fired back up = What clunk?
Takes a Man to stab it in gear and ride away.
Takes a Man to listen to turtle and eliminate a clunk w/dead engine starts.
Takes a Man to wait and wait and wait with the clutch lever in before the clunk subsides some.
Takes 3 decisions to stop with the clunking or cry the squid move about cry-clunking, complaint-clunking, forever clunking is just look at the design and now add spinning/put your finger in the fan clunking, or spin your hand as fast as the fan and now insert finger and see? No hurt tea fingertip flap/slap/the crap out of what is a clunk, where is it? How do I eliminate it 3 ways? If only there was a clue!
Signed,
You think they got it?
Na, it's too simple.
Yeah, that's the problem.
Well, what can you do?
I know! Show them the tip of your finger!
Na, they'll think you're giving them the finger.

Most seem to comment on the CLUNK. Set idle at 900-100. helps. also fresh oil helps.
I think you meant 900-1,000
The problem with low rpm idle is that your oil pressure drops lower too and that's not good. Oil pressure threads suggest raising your idle to closer to 1,500 to keep the pressure up so your #3 rod doesn't come through the block (or some other negative results). My bike idles at 1,200 and I have a clunk that I hate, but I'm leary about lowering it. What's worse, clunk or boom?

fats,
1. Spray is how one side is applied and gravity takes care of the rest, say the centrifugal does it too, but still look at it as one side no matter how you look at it. I don't buy it. And for that sexual application, think of you on the outside rubbing on one side only: I rest my case.
2. Grease on the other hand and in hand is again, take the sexual approach and see that full circle? It means, all the way around is the [grease's] entry point is that point. And I rest my case you take the pick. It seems to be the better of the two lube applications, period. Your bike vs. my maintenance approach when it comes to the rims too.
3. A straight edge razor blade cuts the grease gun's cartridge tubes paper, around and down, then back on goes the plastic lid. With plastic gloves on, one had stays dry as the other hand is hand packing the grease. I then squeeze the lower rung with the rear wheel rolling slow. I'll move the fingers to the rear of the sprocket where I can pack from behind the sprocket faces and I'm working both front and rear links: how simple is that?
4. Cleanup is one dry/no spray/one after the other/I can't believe it's not butter... recycled paper towels. So if the freshly rolled off paper towel in the kitchen sees water only, soap, squeezed dry, shallow food spots wiped, short of molding, those are saved as the rim cleaners. I know you are cleaning that tack off and I have no tack mixed in the grease.
5. Grease flings off, not clings too like chain spray. The paper towel does not crunch with grit. Why? No chemical tackiness used so the rocks crunch around not fling off with the grease. So here I am with stretched out, dried out paper towels, the wipe is so fast, hardly any scratches, because of the no, clap-clap cling'on'cling'off.
6. So where are we at? One dry paper towel between a wipe and a sparkling rim. I've moved the chain twice and she is broken in. Once before the new tire, then when the next new tire came into service. So if I match or exceed your higher rim maintenance, tackier lube, WEAR are we at? Same exact place, but less scratches, less chemical solutions as some solution against a dry paper towel, where? Who? Who keeps seeing the complaints, has yet to cry about a gear plunge or a rim reaming.
Signed,
Did you show them your finger?
You don't mean the fan-fan?
Yes, that's like here comes another one in the face.
Don't use that one!
Why not?
Yes it's a fan, butt there are other connotations that send that other stufflying.
Oh, that's grease flingolf.
You mean, fling off.
Hey, you have a problem wit my lispissing I fling off a word?
No not at all. I'm not listening anyway.

900rpm: Chew hear that?
1000rpm: You mean that noise down the hall, room 1?
900rpm: Yeah, I'm calling the manager.
1000rpm: I am the manager.
900rpm: Well do something!
1000rpm: OK, say I throw a fast ball at 900mph, will it sound like room 1?
900rpm: Well, yeah, what's 100rpm here or there it's still noise.
1000rpm: Right, so say I walk to the glove and hand it to the catcher.
900rpm: Well, that's not a lot of power behind, oh look a sign on your back.
1000rpm: Is that the one that says, "Shift me?"
900rpm: I'd like to kick it right there.
1000rpm: No, you stop right there dead in your tracks. Hear it now?

Thank you for that tip, aegisranger. I had never heard that but it stands to reason. I actually like the sound of a faster idle.
The clunk is usually a one time / day annoyance. I never am out of gear except maybe at the very long lights. It's a lot safer to keep it in 1 and be ready for an emergency take off. Never needed to do that yet but there's always that chance you will see someone rapidly approaching from behind.

I didn't even bother reading all that crap. Here's a picture so you can understand. Wadding up paper towels like you do when you pat your vagina dry will not work, sorry. Needa brush.

Wad: Why you crying there, Vaggie?
Vag: Oh, it's my 2.8th time of the year is trade in the...
Wad:... Yes, time does fly. So what is it this time, same thing?
Vag: I wish, but there's something wrong with the bike I want.
Wad: Yeah, stay away from those first year bikes.
Vag: Oh no it's not that. I found the right bike. It's going to sit on the floor once this gets out.
Wad: Why would you buy a bike that received bad reviews?
Vag: Oh the reviews are fine, it's out in the field and owner complaints are coming in.
Wad: Really? They must have some real doozy of a problem then.
Vag: Oh yeah, it's really serious.
Wad: How serious may I ask?
Vag: You know how you dig for the cheeze fromunda?
Wad: Yeah, that's a mess getting up in there anshit.
Vag: Well, they make the rims the same way and I'm not sure I want one now.
Wad: Can't you pat your poo sea with one of them there tramp pole leans?
Vag: Oh no, they'd jump out of their skin and all that cheeze is gone from there.
Wad: So are you going to complain about the rim cleaning on line?
Vag: It's like see wad kind of riders own these bikes, pat their poosea and then complain about some stink inn cleaning operation. Yes, that's my kind of bike. Wad I need to do now is think like, a vaggie packer/patter/poosea/waaaaaaaaaa/nooks/&cranny/anshit. A dab ill do ya and a bank loan I am all set.
Wad: They aren't going to read this down to here are they?
Vag: Thank goodness, no. Go for it.

My 2014 ABS has 139 miles...CLUNK. The rims haven't gotten dirty yet, but, I appreciate them being gloss black. The old matte black was rediculously hard to clean.

Every bike I have ever owned has a solid clunk when shifting from neutral to first.
My 2001 Ducati 748 has no 'clunk', it's silky smooth from neutral to first. I guess the benefit of a dry clutch, no drag...
