Indeed we do. Shit is getting wild! Soon our precious 14s are gonna look like child's play. Not a yammi fan but that got me pumped to see what they got up their sleeves for the new R1.

I think the point here is that there isn't just an H2, there is a Suz, a Honda AND a Yammi -- all coming out with super high powered bikes. Sheltered in my little world of the Gen1 14, I though it was just the H2 for a while until the rest stepped up to compete. This is full scale business as usual now. You're living in the world of smaller bikes with decisively superior power now. Mod up or get eaten.

They know we buy these bikes and spend just as much or more to mod them so they go faster. They're cashing in on the aftermarket market by making bikes that are already as fast as they can be. I can't believe they waited this long. There's lots of owners out there with modded ten year old bikes that have no reason to buy a new bike. I'm sure motorcycle companies have lost sales because of the aftermarket world.

You can see what age bracket and 'intended riding' is aimed at.The 14/14R is safely beyond the shark tank;)In it's own class...truly one of a kind.Unless Kawasaki builds a 14 that drives and performs like a 1000...(which I think they're working on)....those 'literbikes' won't have the vastness of owners that the 14 family has enjoyed.Course...crashing at the track and such DOES sell motorcycles;)
I say again for us die hard 14 fans....the H2 is the 'pre-platform' test for the new 14.Gonna be really cool to see their next iteration of the 14....They really don't need to change very much....she's virtually ready now...
Kawasaki knows...the H2/H2R is gonna be financially accessible to a narrow market...that's not what they want when building a new machine.Course...they knew this going in...so what are they REALLY doing?IMO...they're testing this technology now on this smaller narrow band of bikes....cheaper in the long run actually. When they get the design(s) ready for serious worldwide release...it'll be on a 14 platform. The 14 SELLS...big time. And they WILL sell a ton of em...just watch.

I remember when Yamaha came out with the "Midnight Special" back in the early 80's. Dealers were wanting BIG down payments and asking prices way OVER MSRP, they sold every one they could get their hands on! Tell people something is rare or hard to get and they will line up to buy!
Think it was back in the 20's that Shetland Ponies became popular, they were selling for $500,000 or more, until people finally realized they worn't worth anything FOR anything!!! Some smart person convinced a BUNCH of DA's that Shetlands were rare and hard to get so people were lined up to buy! Can't fix stupid!

I like the color scheme... does that count?
However at $16,500?! that's ok, they can keep it. It may end up beating a 14 around the track but I bet my bike would yank a knot in its tail everywhere else ;)
