Took a red eye from San Diego to Atlanta to pick up my '06 ZX 14 last weekend. Just got home yesterday after riding 2,472 miles and the bike ran flawlessly.I'm really in love with it. From Atlanta to Dallas was riding by myself and then hooked up with my friend who rode his '03 ZX 12R to Dallas and met me for the ride back to San Diego. I was amazed at how comfortable the big Ninja is and how smooth and deceiving the power and speed can be. We averaged about 400 miles/day and my fuel average ended up being 38.8 mpg. Most of the miles were on I-20 were we were going between 90 -100 mph. So dam lucky to not get a ticket. We did spot a few in the medians and on the side of the highway but were able to tap the brakes and slow down enough to get by. The only things I'm going to change for a long ride like that again is maybe taller risers(1"),a throttle lock for resting my throttle hand and maybe some lower foot pegs.My neck muscles to my shoulders got a little sore and my throttle hand but other than that the bike is perfect.I'm 6'2" 205 lbs and it fits me perfect. It's pretty much bone stock and I'll probably leave it like that for awhile. Anyway threads like this to me are worthless with out pics so here you go. Just getting ready to turn 58 in a few days so this trip was a dream come true and the best birthday ever.Old Guys Rule! lmao!
