I'm excited summer is here. The roads are clean and hot and the tires stick so nice. Along with the usual on/off ramp agenda, I can't help a quick expressway race/chase if I see a fast car or bike. I'm always leery because there are always a lot of cops there but I take a chance a few times each year.
A couple nights ago I had this white car come up on me up fast on my left and pass. I sped up but it was just an ordinary Ford Escort or something. I don't usually risk a ticket for anything less than a corvette. I sped up a little but didn't take off. Then a black CBR zooms past so I nail it and zip past the white car t chase the bike. The bike didn't seem to be to intent on getting away from me but he did open it up when he got a clear path so I did to. Up and over the hill about 130 and I stood up on the pegs and swungung down over the left side to take the corner. That was about it, the lanes were all filled ahead. I pull to the far left lane and just cruise about 65. The CBR exits. My spidey sense must have kicked in because I glanced to my left before I was about to nudge over a bit in my lane. WHat do I see??? The white hood and fender of a car sliding up alongside me IN MY LANE not more than 12 inches away!!! The guy was lane splitting with a car and I was about to bump right against him! I made a quick swerve to the right to open up some space. It was the dude in the white Escort. I followed him a little but thought better of it because what would be the point? I was low on gas anyway and the guy would have just said "you think you're the only one who can drive like an asshole?? I can do it too with my car." He was making risky passes with other vehicles so why even bother to get involved in his accident
We all know a lot of cagers hate sportbikes. What has occured to me from this incident as well as a couple from last spring is that some people not only get pissed off, they want to play a game of Whose mo crazy, BEOTCH. I can't say much. It's true, I'm out there taking risks so other people might think they they can join in. I can't exactly call the cops and complain, can I.
