New guy from Oklahoma
08/25/13 9:04 AM

Hi all, just wanted to stop in a say hi. I just picked up a brand new left over 2012 14R. She's going to be my new drag strip queen. I'm far from new to riding, but always been a 1000 guy. I currently have an 05 10R, that i've had since brand new. Has pistons, and intake cam, head studs, valve springs, low first gear, and is about 9 over. But I have a feeling i'll be going quicker on this new beast than I do on my 10. Hope to learn a bunch on here. I know my 10 like the back of my hand but this 14 is definitely going to be a learning experience.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! I am definitely impressed all around! She has insane torque down low. And corners better than I ever thought it would. I'm really anxious to see what kinda power she makes bone stock. Then with a reflash and the secondaries removed. It'll be a while before I can afford a pipe, but with fall comin up I'm gonna see how quick she will go!

Lol same un as 10r.net. But figured i need to join big 14 forum so I can pick some brains about this beast! I'm still really wondering about the secondaries. Any negative effects at all? I'm putting it on the dyno this week and see what she baselines at. Have almost 300 miles on it now so it's about time. :)

You'll be impressed with it on the dyno.
It will disappoint you at the track stock.
The STP's or flies need to go either mechanically or electronically.
I prefer that people keep them open with a flash than low tech and remove them.
It goes into safety mode way to easily. This is something removing them can't avoid.
The timing map for safety mode still kick's in as far as I can see.

Thanks for the input. So your saying don't take the stp's off, just reflash so they stay open all the time? It will be a while before I can afford to get a reflash. I just took my strap off my 10 last night and put it on the 14. I really want to see what I can do with just a strap. I went 9.51@148 on my 10 with a strap, slip on, and lowered just a bit, and pc3. I think it may take a reflash to get down there on this thing but feels like she's gonna 60' like a boss! Going to change the oil after work then head to the track and see what happens. Who is romes? I figured don guhl was the guy to goto for the flash.how much does this romes guy charge?

Ok cool! Once I get a little money I will look him up. Thanks for the welcome wolfman! So went to the dyno yesterday and the track last night. You guys were right! Damn sure impressed with the dyno numbers. And really didn't do bad at the track! Made 6 passes. It was really hard trying to get this thing to e violent off the line. It just wouldn't. I can definitely tell the power is there, just have to figure out how to use it. Went out bone stock with just a strap and my 6th pass I went a 1.73 60' and wheelie'd trough first and half way through 2nd and went a 9.66@147. I really need a seat pan for this thing. But I can definitely tell she's gonna fly!!
