Sooooo. The joys of being on a dangerous vehicle, even when your just another "driver" on the road. I had just left having lunch with some friends. I get on 23 South to head home, and as I'm passing over 94 a guy is towing a boat in the right lane. Going about 65-70. I'm doing almost 80, but just commuting home.
Suddenly, the trailer tire closest to me wobbles - I see it, and before I can downshift or accelerate it "pops". The hubcap or trim ring sails right by the front tire of my bike, and a large piece of rubber goes between my wheels. Then it gets squirley and almost jumps right into me. The driver towing does a marvelous job of getting er straight, and pulls it over to the shoulder as I was trying to accelerate out of the way.
If my frt tire had hit either of those objects it could have slid, and I'd have been toast. Or the trailer crushed me, whatever. WHEW.
Pay attention to EVERYTHING. We can NEVER assume its a normal cruise home, to work, etc. Shit can get real, really quick.
