Risers and clutch
07/29/10 6:10 PM

All, I recently installed GenMar risers. Once completed I realized that my 14 would not start in gear but it would in neutral. I rose the clutch level up to a more parallel position to the ground and it would. I returned it to my normal positioning and then changed the tension back and forth (lighter position it would not, harder tension it would not). So, is there some kind of sensor with the clutch wiring that is preventing starting while in gear?

If you look behind the clutch lever, there is a little sensor there. I've had these go bad in the past on other kawi's and the bike would only start in nuetral. It's just a small sensor with a pin thats pushed in by the clutch lever.

Nope...kickstand was up. I'll check for that sensor. I also noticed that once the risers went on there is a portion of the clutch that now rubs on the fork housing.

Aren't there two small plugs that connect to the clutch sensor?Maybe they are on there reversed?Or one is loose?"A portion of the clutch rubs on the fork housing"....any pics there?
