Now that I'm caught up I'd just like to give props to COOTER for turning that thread around.
I like your style Cooty, proud of ya.
From my perspective Grn was feeling singled out and no one was helping and everyone was being attacked in one way or another. I didn't catch all of it since evidently some of the exchanges were lost, but I know how it feels to be 'that' guy suddenly on a forum that everyone gangs up on and it's the worst feeling; like all your friends turned into blood sucking vampires. I have new respects for people here. Everyone's talking delete buttons and banning which I think is not seeing the forest through the trees.
It's obvious there might be a need for a dungeon type category where threads get moved to when things get out of order and then those people can go at it till things peter out or someone leaves. But there is a warning to those that enter; that all is not nice there. The opposite side of this is the people who are responsible for having a thread moved get that silent mark on their heads for making a good thread get moved to where it's hard to find.
It's so easy for people to take things the wrong way in forums. I for one know how that can be because I like to be blunt with people. When forums start to get bigger though, you're gonna have people who are different and fights are gonna happen. Some people think trash talk is all part of the sport while others (myself included) would rather not have to be on guard all the time. Either one is fine as long as everyone involved is on the same page. Unfortunately some people feel no obligation to keep the peace and poke or bitch till things get blown out. The thing to do is to stick those people who want to start problems where they belong, in a trash talk category so they understand that what their doing isn't appreciated by everyone. But then some people just never learn and I think banning is an option but not always the end of it.
But like I always say, that's just my dumb opinion. Ultimately, the future is up to the owner of the forum. Good things don't last forever. And I'm sure that maybe what's going through some minds.
But I sure hope everyone can be cool. Smoke a fatty and laugh about it, or whatever you do, and roll on.
