Sargent Modular Seat
04/03/13 10:29 AM

See Sargent in Jacksonville has a new ZX14r seat that is modular with a storage compartment in the rear under stock cowling...it is 449.95......offered in stock height or low, about 1.5 inches lower than stock.

Can have it painted stock colors to match your bike too...

Wondering if anyone got one yet and what you think of it?

It's actually much more expensive. You have to buy the front and rear sections. The front section sells for $350-$520 depending upon options. The rear passenger seat is $200. The 'Pod' rear section is a small trunk, and it's $230-450.

Cheapest setup would be the basic front and rear seats at $550. If you want a heated front seat, a rear seat, and painted Pod you're looking at $1170...

I like the lockable 'pod' idea, but for that money I'll just use a tailbag and carry it with me...

I have the sargent, without the pod storage. I just keep emergency stuff under my cowl (rain gear, tire repair, etc...). The seat is very comfy, although I got mine taller than stock.

I keep hearing good things about Sergeant, and then I hear the negative bunk. How was the install on the seat compartment duo, and did it fit, "like a glove?" The reason I am asking I ordered a corbin seat and smuggler trunk for my last bike and it took me and a buddy mechanic several hours to install and it still had gaps where rain got it. On that note how is the seal on said seat/compartment duo?

Thanks boys,
M

I have the Sargent seat and modular pod storage on my '09. I like it and recommend it. I guesstimate it has about 3/4 gal capacity. Here are some pictures.

I don't have the pod. I just use the cowl that came with the bike. The seat doesn't have a passenger seat, so there's only the seat frame under the cowl. It leaves quite a bit of space.

Very impressive! How comfortable is it over stock? What is the cost out the door?
