Thanks to a good friend and distant relative "Rook". I got my bike home today. Already put a 100 plus mile on here and look to put many more over the years. Rook thanks for all the advice over the past few week. I know I made the right choice with the 14R. I know there is a lot of experienced people on the forum and i am looking forward to learning a lot about the bike. I also still have in the stable a 2013 Suzuki C90T Boss, 2008 ZX-6R and my other baby 2014 Mustang 5.0. I think my wife is about to kill me...

Darkside grew up in my hometown. He's a career military man and looks like he's got the race bug.

That is one hot lookin 14r, aint it? just love those fins. Blacked out cans even look good .....for now.

Did you decide to take orange and black instead of the greenie? I think I like the B/O better. There's nothing you can do to improve on that scheme. I don't think I'd even go with a smoked widscreen. Just do a simple fender eliminator with some L brackets from Home Depot and pop in an LED for a taglight. take off the reflectors...maybe loose the mirrors and go with mirror caps and a bar end mirror (after you get used to the bike). That's about $50 worth of stuff.

From there, the aftermarket world is endless. I think all black. Anything you get, kickstand, rearsets hugger...all black.

I had the hardest time purchasing this bike. One problem after another with the dealership. Originally I ordered a Golden Blaze Green / Metallic Spark Black w/ ABS. They called me on a Saturday and told me my bike was in to come and pick it up. So I go to the dealer and I am getting the little brief they give on new bikes and this guy keeps looking at this Candy Burnt Orange ZX14R. I'm like wheres my bike, he said that's it right there. I looked at him and said, no its not I ordered a green one. Oh Crap!

So the Sale manager found another one about 70 miles away. After about 4 days They call me to come down a get the bike. Now guess what the dumb asses drop the bike unloading it from the trailer. Scratch the lower left fairing, Left Mirror, Bar end, foot peg...

There like we going to replace everything with new parts blah blah blah. I looked at him like he was crazy. I am not buying no new bike that has to be repaired already. I ask if they still had the orange one. I told him If you give me 500.00 off the orange one we got a dealer or I am walking. Well you see I have and Orange bike...lol

Day 2 253 mile on the bike!

I am happy thing worked out this way because I love the orange.

YA, everything worked out for the better in the end. 500 off! Good thing you didn't walk, you probably saved some guy his job! LOL You know, I am nearly positive they dropped my busa before letting me come in to get it. They said they had to do a few things and it would be a few days. What caught my eye when i saw it was that the black parts were all swirled up horribly. Never even noticed the major scrapes on the lowers or the touch up with nail polish on the uppers. I bet what they were fixing up was the busted side fairing and mirror that would have never gone unnoticed. Oh well, been dropped twice by me since and still going strong.

I'm actually pretty happy you took the B/O. That is about my fave but it's hard to not love them all. Now that ZX-10 is what would be on my mind. Like you, I considered that instead of the 14 back in 08. No regrets but after owning two hyperbikes, I'm a little more interested in the new ZX-10. I'd never trade the 14 for one though. The 14r is going to cover all of your bases and when it comes to straightline acceleration and top speed stability, that's your baby.

That's just nuts! You would think that a cycle dealer would be able to properly load, move, and unload a bike without incident. This is their business after all.

As much as I like the green ones, this bike looks awesome! I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

Grats man! Love the Candy Burnt Orange. Golden Blazed Green is hot too, I like them about the same with the orange getting the edge just barely.
