Love the idea of changing gauge color. Have any board members done the conversion or had any experience with this company? Thanx!

Looks legit. If you can get the right leds its not that tough do do the install. I did my chevy truck cluster not too long ago with some leds from ebay. Half of the lights were out on the dash. I wanted to do the bike too but didn't see any leds for the clusters for sale. Maybe I will take apart my cluster and check it out. It cost me $18 to do the cluster backlighting for the truck.

There was a discussion about them HERE (Illumiglow 220 mph clocks)

Thanks for digging that up Kolfa. I still have not installed mine.

The mod you guys are talking about is something totally dif than Illumiglow. Illumiglow is some sort of liquid inside of an aftermarket clock face. The liquid reacts to electricity to cause a colored light. You guys are having new LEDs installed inside and not necessarily using aftermarket faces, right?

Rook, the way I understand it is Bluegauges gives you a choice. There's one you can change only the LED's backlighting color. The one I'am thinking about doing is illumiglow faceplates "plug and play", exactly what your referring to. Here's how they do it.

"All illumiglo faceplates require external battery voltage to light up. Normally, you have to run a wire out of the back of the gauges and tap it into the fuse box or some other switched device. We route that wiring back into the gauge cluster and solder the connections directly to the circuit board inside the gauges. This way when you get your gauges back, there is no external wiring needed. Simply install your gauges as you removed them and everything is ready to go. The image here shows what the wiring will look like when it is completed. It will be routed out one of the vent holes so that it doesn't get in the way of the rubber boot that goes over the main connector. When you get your gauges back from us all you need to do is mount the transformer with double sided tape somewhere such that it wont get pinched".

I went with blue backlighting to match my leds on the bike with red needles, looks freaking awesome with everything lit up!
Rook yes that is what I did stock gauges with a lighting change I will get a pic on here in the morning!

The transformer is the small black box at the end of the wires coming out of the back of the gauges in the pic you posted? No need for the big old ballast that comes with the Illumiglow?

I will get a pic on here in the morning!

Cool! might not be able to come back to this thread 'til Monday but love to see it.

ooooooooooooooooo-oo! SWEE-ee--eet!

I'd say having Bluegauges do the install would be worth the extra $75 to not have to bother with your wiring but it doesn't seem like it will eliminate the box coming out of the back of the cluster. I have two boxes that came in the wiring with mine(maybe one for the tach and one for the speedo?).

Replacing the LEDs is the most direct approach. No extra boxes to mount but I really want to see that 200 mph on the face.

Rook man its well worth it but I didnt think about the 200 mph gauge face at the time.

Purely bragging rights and that's stretching it a bit. Most of the gen ones won't do much over 190 and most of us will never try that! They should have gone with a 210 mph stock speedo on the gen 2.
