I managed to get the bike out a couple days ago. Visited my old man. He's 90 now, a mechanic for 60, helped me rebuild a couple bike motors, knows his shit, still quick (and mean) as a snake. He lives at the end of a long straight country road, and I always like to blast down it to piss off his neighbors. I haven't had the bike over there for quite a while. I get off the bike, and he says "what did you do to that thing? It sounds smoother, and seems like it revs quicker." I explain about the flash, and he shakes his head and says "that's cheatin. Too easy". I was waiting for the "back in my day" speech, but he had other things on his mind. I let him hear it wail when I left. I still have the stock ECU, and it's a sad comparison. Like 2 different bikes. One with flies that strangle the motor, lean spot at partial throttle, rough idle, hesitant when you crank it, runs hot, grabby shifting. The other is all smiles, no complaints. Romans may think he's a nobody, but I don't. Cheat a little, you won't be sorry!
