I was there. I didn't see anything else but 600s and 1000s. Somebody called my bike a touring bike. I guess it can be but I shamed a guy on his gixxer down the back stretch. He pulled up on me hummin' but I still pulled on him even a gear or two up. He was a really large man to be fair but still... I'm not exactly a lightweight.

There was a guy on here about seven year ago called ironheadmike. I'm friends with him on FB now. He really got into the track scene with his 14R. He later went with a ZX-1000 for the track. Now he's back to choppers. All I can say, chrly is you will have a shiteload of fun on anything you bring to a road race track. There was a guy on an oil burning heap of trash that couldn't do more than 50 mph. He had a blast and he didn't worry about crashing the bike. Bring what you have and use the appropriate restraint. If you get hooked on the track pipe, you will buy a bike you can crash without regrets and that's not your 14. You will still have fun on the 14 though. If you have expressways with curly ramps like we had in Milwaukee, that's where you get your track practice. You scrape your exhaust on those, you're as ready for the track as you'll ever be on a 14. Even if you don't scrape some hard parts, the track is a fun experience you can't duplicate on the road. The crowd I was with was very excepting and enthusiastic about a new track rider. I'd like to go back someday. It can easily become an expensive hobby that precludes the acquisition of more bikes and that's what keeps me away.

If you have a large track like Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, That's going to be a track where the 14 will shine. It's a kick in the pants even on a small track.
