Water versus Petrol
11/08/10 6:55 AM

Watched an incredible Discovery Channel programme a few days ago about Lake Mead, Las Vegas's water, part of California's water from the Colorada and the population growth in these area's. Without a return to more rain the area's could become dust bowls, which some of you have seen before. Here in Wales we have enough rain to drive folk to drink but we do not export a drop (except that is for the massive amounts taken by England for its major cities). Here we have unleaded approaching £1.35 a litre which probably seems unbelievable to you in the US. My point is who would like to send me unleaded in big quantities so I can live like an oil sheik (harem the lot) and I will fill the tanker with as much clean water as you want as a return load. This weekend we have eight Wales rivers on flood watch and we havent even got to winter yet. Please bring your bottles, buckets, cannisters what have you and fill them we need to get rid of the stuff fast!!!!!!!!

The water is the lowest I've seen in about 10 years. But, I'm hoping the drought is over. If these yahoos around here don't stop consuming water like it's going out of style, it may not matter if the drought is over.

Here in Missouri we go from drought to flood, and back to drought again in just a few years. Last 2 summers were just massive flooding, this summer it's rained 3 times in as many months (and not very much then). Last summer was one of the coolest in modern history, this summer one of the hottest. Crazy weather.
