Adios, amigos.

Sorry to say it and it's totally heartbreaking, but my beloved ZX14 got stolen out of a locked parking lot two weeks ago. No theft insurance. It was parked locked up in a locked lot where I've stowed lots of bikes over the last 25 years. The pukes that stole it came in a van, cut the locks, loaded it in and were gone in minutes. For whatever it's worth, I grew up here in New York and have always managed to avoid this and have, um, broken the law myself protecting bikes a few times. I guess my number just was up.

The bike was a 2008, midnight sapphire blue, with Yoshi ti slip ons, a Ted's fender eliminator, GenMar's, and otherwise stock. It had all of 3000+ miles on it.

I was thinking a while back about scoring another ZRX as a project bike as I had one before the ZX, but now I'll just be looking for a clean, low milage ZRX1200. If anyone knows of one for sale in the northeast, hit me up.

I've lurked here a lot more than I've posted, but you guys have helped give me a fantastic education about the bike that I loved as well as shitload of laughs. And for that I thank you sincerely, and for any of you that are over at ZRXOA I'll be checking back in there soon, I guess.

Thanks guys.

That's f*cked... Really sorry, Dude.

Hey Jayfell

I grew up in the park slope/windsor terrace section of Brooklyn and I am very sorry to hear your news,THAT REALLY SUCKS!!! 3 years ago My Buddy had a 08 Atomic silver and they robbed it at 2pm in broad daylight right in front of his house on the service road of Ocean Parkway and beverly road...Balsy MF's! He purchased a 2009 R1 to replace his stolen bike and about 3 weeks ago they stole that bike. He has no FN Luck!
About a year ago some woodbee thieves payed my house in Staten Island a visit in the middle of the night for my 2007 Candy Plasma Blue Baby, they thought the bike was in my yard which it usually was but I decided to keep her in my house for that winter and thank god I did. They disabled all my motion security lights I had around the house, took the lock off of my 8 foot fence and pryed open the window to my shed but I had security tabs on the window and they could only open it about 3 inches and took a look inside and when it wasnt there they left. I had a $2000 dollar snow blower sitting in the yard and they left that behind.
A friend of mine is a Cop for the Brooklyn Anti-Crime Auto Theft Division of the NYPD and he always says to keep your eye on Ebay and Craigs List to see if you recognize your bike or parts from your bike on those sites.
He also says that usually the thieves will take your bike to a block that one of them live on and chain it up with a good chain to a street light and put a bike cover on it and watch it for 3 or 4 days this is to make sure the bike doesen't have Lo-Jack on it....If the cops don't come they assume the bike is clean and take it to there house or garage to strip.
Be Well

Sorry to hear that.

Got a bunch of folks with ZRXs in your area.

We're on the ZRXOA so come over and say hello.

Food for thought.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it.

And Sportsman, thanks for the tip on the red ZRX. I've got an email out to the guy. And I'll see you over at ZRXOA where I've been a member for years. I sold my last ZRX when I bought the ZX14 so it's been awhile.
