good summer jacket

I been looking for a nice summer jacket. I currently ride with a icon regulator vest with my bikers club patch. I wanted a Kawasaki branded jacket so im torn between these two Kawasaki branded jackets. which would be the better buy?
Textile...
or
Mesh...

pricewise, I bet there is no dif.

Safetywise, the mesh is obviously not going to help much but better than a T-shirt all by itself. textile should help 40 mph and lower and it is cool enough for all but the hottest days if the liner is removed. I feel pretty confident in summer traffic with a textile. Speed and Strength I got for $60 last year. HAs back protector and shoulder/elbow armor but the rest is just a nylonish cloth.

I am very interested in this for the hottest days of city riding. Nice deal at COmp Access.

Obviously not a safe sport riding jacket but you can look sporty while playing it cool this summer for $125 off list price.

If you want something for your summer rough riding go with perforated leather. Those few holes make a lot more dif than you would think.

I have seen some pretty compelling leather / textile comparos online. There has been some testing done that reveals leather to be more resistant to abrasion. Thatis the key. Seam burst syrength is important and textiles may have a slight edge there. Saw photos of leather in a crash and textile and that made me choose leather as the instant winter. Real life was more compelling even than the tests. I would do some googling. There could be some fabrics that are very strong but they will be expensive and they will melt and cause burns if you go sliding. I believe in textile but NO WAY for best abrasion protection. Good for one fall? If that is true and the leather is good for 2 falls, i'd go with leather becuase it must have protected me on the first fall.

If you just look at some textile jackets and feel them you will believe in leather. No MC racers wear textiles.
