Seat suggestions
08/02/10 12:52 PM

I need a little advice on the different aftermarket seats available. I've seen some discussions on a C-14 seat & researched Corbin's website. For starters what is a C-14? Has anyone got a suggestion as to which is the more comfortable choice? A friend of mine also mentioned Saddleman, has anyone tried one of theirs? I love my new ZX but have to say after about 160 miles into a 200+ ride my a$$ is a bit sore. I need to find something more comfortable & streamlined as if were a factory fit.

The rear cowl will not fit over a stock C14 seat - but it is more comfortable.

I have the concours 14 seat on my 2008. It will still have issues but the issues to a few more miles before they get not so comfy.

Black1 - how much do you want for it and why are you getting rid of it?

I have the C-14 seat and love it. You can run the distance the tank will carry you until you fill up again.

you can modify the stock seat ..yourself to be as comfortable as any aftermarket seat ..but you have to do some surgery on it ..I did and it works great.

Loadedmind,

I'm selling it for $275.00 + shipping. Reason why I'm selling it is because I have two of them one with the "Ninja" logo on it and one with out and i don't like the one the logo in it anymore. I black the bike out a while ago.

An he dose not make these seats anymore he is out of the business. That sucks b/c I would totally get another one so I don't have to take the cowl off anymore just change the seat.

Dunno if they are the best but I've had Corbin seats since my old zx-11 in 1990. The wife likes the little backrest. They are expensive, and take a few hundred miles to break in and be really comfortable.

I lucked out on both counts for the 14 this year; found a used one on e-bay for half price. Looks new but feels broken in.

I put the c-14 seat on and it is a lot more pleasing on the behind and holds you in place unlike the 14 seat where you slide back.

Initial reviews make it sound like the seat on the new 14R is better... any ideas whether it might fit the 14s?
