Dim/Faded LCD display on 2018 ZX-14R

anyone has dealt with a fading digital display issue. Recently, the LCD on my 2018 ZX-14R has become very dim. It’s reached a point where it’s difficult to read the data during the day and even at night.
It doesn't seem to be a standard brightness setting issue, but rather a loss of contrast or "fading" of the digital readout itself.
Has anyone encountered this on this specific model? I'm trying to figure out if this is a sign of a failing capacitor, a loose ground, or if the screen is simply giving out. If you've managed to fix this without replacing the entire instrument cluster

Sun facing you, no problem. Sun overhead, can't read. Sun behind you, can't read. You can hold down a button and the screen changes to black. Forget the button, maybe the left switch. Just hold down till it changes. Hold down again to revert.

You are the first to mention a fading screen. A lot of years have passed with the same screen. Haven't a clue, sorry.

yes, i sometimes have this problem on my 2013... started happening last year during a highlands road trip, when the ambient temperature dropped down to 13 degC, as opposed to the usual 30 degC we have near sea level where i live... now back home it would happen again, but only every now and then...

when starting the bike in the morning the screen would be totally blank, then as the engine is warming up, the display slowly comes back to life and stays fine for the next few days... at this point it is not a permanent issue, i reckon it could be related to humidity of the air, like after a tropical rain

kind of decided that i can live with it... probably a bad contact or an exposed wire that gets affected by humidity?
interestingly it does not happen after a bike wash
