Due to a little problem with number 2 piston I now need a new motor. Does anyone know where to get a good low mileage engine. The dealer said I can't just buy an new engine. Otherwise my trusty zx14 will hit the scrap heap to be parted out.

I'm not sure. It still runs but there is alot of metal shavings in the oil and number 2 piston is not coming to the top. It seemed to get better as I rode rode it and actually ran cooler than normal. but it was running like crap and I knew when it started up it was real bad. The cost to rebuild is 5k and it has about 40k.I don't want to spend that much on an 06. The body looks like new and it has a bazza tuner, new chain and a full yoshi exhaust so i would like to just put another engine in it if I can find a good one.

Sorry about your bike did you drop a valve or throw a rod? And disregard my post on your will an 08 engine fit an 06! I will keep an eye out for an engine for you in our area!

It sounded like a valve but the guy at Florida Motorsports thought it was the piston. Thanks for keeping a eye out cooter. I have had a lot of bikes but i think this was my best all round bike. I intend to get another if I cant fix it.
