Getting a 14 this weekend
01/31/12 7:52 PM

Hey guys I'm finally getting a 14 this weekend. I'm making the 7 hour trip from LA. to Dallas...anyone have any tips or suggestions? Will I need to a notary even to the bike has a clear title?

No clue on buying a used bike but CONGRATS!!! It'll be worth the 7 hours. I'd contact a bank in the town you're going to and ask if NR (they often have a cert NR or two on staff)stamp is required for such a transaction.

They can put a seal and signature on a document for a fee to make it official to stand up in court.

Don't think it will be an issue if you have title and bill of sale. what part of LA are ya in? Lived in Baton Rouge for a bit.

In N.C., you will definately need to have the title notarized. The signature that needs to be notarized is the seller, not necessarily the buyer. That is to ensure that the bike is not stolen. As for the bill of sell, that doesn't mean a thing here, the signed and notarized title is king. May want to check with the DMV in your area to be sure.
