Hello, newbie to the ZX14 world. I just stepped up from a Ninja 650R to a 2006 Candy Thunder Blue ZX14. Mods to the bike so far are full Ti Force exhaust, PC III, TRE, frame sliders, fender eliminator and a zero gravity wind screen. I just order the Genmar risers for the bike also. Plan on some new tread for the bike next, maybe some Pilot Power 2CT tires. Any suggestions? Looking for grip and as much tire life as possible with a sticky tire. Love the bike so far, just got to get used to the twisties on it. Feels less nimble in the curves, probably the size and weight differnce.

Welcome! Handling on the old bird won't be as you are used to on the smaller lighter rides you're used to... But pretty damn good for it's size! Have fun - B Safe - but have fun!

Congratulations on the new bike and my favorite all-around tire is the road pilot 3 best duel compound rain tire and sides are nice and sticky very confident in the corners and you should get around 8,000-10,000 miles on them depending on how you ride. Have fun and be safe!

Make sure that your suspension is set up right. The 14 can handle awful if it is set up wrong,( ask me how I know...)
But, set up right, it is a great bike even in the twisties. I routinely take on solo riders on their sport rockets and whip them with mine, 2-up.

Getting used to it more now. Love this bike. No more arguing at work who has the fastest bike between me and the Harley guys, lol. I put the Genmar risers on last night. Hope to take it out for a spin tomorrow to test the ride out. Not much height difference but may help on a long ride and riding double with my wife. I can't stay off this thing. Probably put more miles on it this week than the previous owner did in a year.
