I watch "The Bike Show" on youtube and they finally reviewed the new H2 SX. At the end of the Video they match a new zx14r for a Race. Watch which one wins.

The ZX14 has just got to be the greatest, most stable freight train rocketship factory bike ever built.
I just don't see the H2 SX competing with it. Looks, nope. Speed, nope. Reliability, prob nope ... supercharger. OK, I guess it's a little lighter, so maybe it handles a tiny tad better.
BTW, I watched that video previously, and I seem to remember that's ^ basically what they say, if you listen in between the "pump it up" sales pitch words they're required to say in order to keep their jobs.

Well Crude. All I can say about my H2 is...yes,it's scary fast.Dangerously so if you're not respecting it.As for a zx14 comparo...I'll take my H2 over my 14 anyday. It's that good. And THAT was something NOBODY thought was possible.Smoother and more solid than my 14.It's quite amazing.

I just watched a video of a stock H2 get it's butt narrowly whooped by a GSXR1000. You need to do the basic mods on the H2. That's why I had a strong feeling that H2Sx was not going to cut the mustard. You'd need to spend even more to get it up to par....so why not just get an H2, I ask? Again, Greenie, I'm really glad you hung onto the real animal you got yourself. Keep that bike!

Interesting observation Rook, the heavy as a whale new H2 = the new lighter GXSR. So the H2 come off as a novelty mule for the SC development and debug and the GSXR is the track weapon of choice. I still dont want a GSXR but mainly because the crips and bloods all drive them in LA not because its a Suzi

A couple of hours at your tuner will give you a 50hp bump on this bike
and wait until everyone gets a little time to tweak it.
I really like this bike and there might be a big advantage over the H2,
although I haven't actually got the numbers yet.
Insurance.
H2 = Super Sport Race bike.
H2 SX = Sport touring bike.
I wouldn't be surprised if you see a full coverage difference
of H2 $3000 vs H2 SX $1000
I'll have to get a VIN number and get a quote.

I never thought about the insurance angle but if you consider all the money it would take to convert an H2SX over to H2 specs and then another wad of cash to get the most out of the H2, I think the insurance would be a mute point unless you go with more than just liability.

Convert nothing, just do a tune and you good to go. Tuning the 50+ HP up to 210-220 would
be good enough for me. What would you want to convert? What would you be spending a wad of
cash on?
Yes, that's the point. I never get collision on my bikes, just comprehensive and liability.
But a 20k loss if I totaled it would be pretty hard on the pocket book. So I would want
collision too, but I won't pay an extra $10k to $14k in insurance over the 5 - 7 years I'd
probably own it.
Kawasaki has done this kinda of thing before, like with the ZX12 vs the ZZR1200, SS vs ST and
the insurance was way cheaper on the ZZR1200 even though both putting out around the same HP

The SX is heavier too. Is that all fairings and bags? Probably. I would want to have the solo seat.
If it's basically the same bike as the H2 with a more detuned ECU, I guess it would be a good way to go.

I WANT AN H2 ENGINE!!!!
I'd take the insurance hit to ride the true beast. It would not be as hard as upgrading a Connie to 14 performance but I couldn't stand knowing I was missing out on the most the H2 could be. If it's a difference of 10 hp, I'll take the 10 more rather the 10 less.

Looks good.It won't have the punch of the H2,but those are really good numbers. It's NOT an H2.Not supposed to be.It's a kickazz sport touring bike.It excels in that.Anyone getting this bike will be very happy. The reviews are most excellent.

my 2 cents worth... from an Indonesian touring playground
sport road touring is what i do, and this is where the zx14r performs well
the bike can handle relatively hostile environment (rough roads, questionable octane ratings, chaotic traffic rules), yet you get all the torque and power you need to save your skin in dodgy situations... and when the road conditions are good, she is ready for that adrenaline rush
... i reckon the h2 sx would be a waste of money, except for the ego satisfaction

The thing that irritated me the most on the video is when they say that the ZX14 can't go around corners...
Is it heavy ? Yes. Is it long? Yes. Can it rail around corners? HELL yes. Sure it's no track bike but it isn't intended to be. I've been at the pointy end of many more "Sporty" group rides than I've been in the back. And I can do it ALL day because of how comfortable it is. Those who can't get around corners quickly on the ZX14 have more of a lack in their riding ability than a lack in the bike.
