Previous busa owners: What do you miss the most?
04/28/13 5:45 PM

I love my ZX14R, by far the best bike I've ever owned in all category comparisons with my previously owned 2009 Hayabusa. That being said, the thing I really miss is attending the annual Reno Busa Stampede. Starting in July 2009, the Stampede gathering of busas is a week long event of mountain rides, track day, photo shoots and ending with a banquet at the Reno Peppermill. Attendees ride in from all over the USA and Canada for this one. I'll be an oddball, so to speak, but I have been given the green light to attend this year's July event even though my busa is no longer with me. Bikes may come and go, but making friends with fellow power/speed enthusiasts usually lasts a lifetime. I wonder if there is a similar gathering of ZX14 owners out there? I haven't run across anything yet, unfortunately.

That's a really cool pic there...I'd like to attend there sometime....just to see the eye candy;)Those bikes do look very good all lined up and such.Lots of personal stories in there...nice.

"I'll be an oddball"....I always feel that way here...just nothing around to compare this baby with....sa'll good....I wouldn't change a thing.I've had 'Cowboys' just walk up and say things like..."That's a Beautiful bike there...what is it?"...stuff like that all the time...even from Seniors....very cool when an 80 yr old gives yer bike props...;)

Hey CC, on the 'ORG'? I was a member way back before busajules joined! :) Great place, great people! Never made the stampede but did one pretty big ride with a bunch of guys back in 07. Other than that, the ZX-14R has me completely in her thrall. :)

I miss the little storage compartment under the hump LOL ! I loved the way my first gen busa looked too, amd I am a Suzuki man, but this bike is just flat out a better bike, its like a busa on steroids ! the brakes are better, it handles better, and I dont need to tell you about the power ! cant wait to get the ECU flashed !!

Carabuser -- DO IT DO IT NOW!!!

And yes I needed all CAPs for that ;-p

Forget everything else it does... with the flies opening earlier and no nanny system, the pull on this thing is crazy stupid. I have said this before, once you get a flash take it easy, feel the bike or bad things could happen. How hard the 14 pulls after 7k is about how hard it pulls all the way thru the revs after you uncork it.

I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't felt it... up your life insurance, update your will.

"Part" of the appeal of the mighty Hayabusa was that it was THE bike to have, as far as sheer acceleration and power.

But now that the revised 14R has crashed their "king of speed" party, I would expect some of the more superficial riders (like me LOL) have suddenly lost some of the pride they had in their big Suzukis.

Notice I said "part" of the appeal, and "some" of the owners.

I more or less prepped those when they first came out was slap them and they'd start up. Gave them their first diaper service. I had a place where I could only use 1st and had to hit the brakes because of the hairpin turn coming up. One day I looked down and it read 92mph. Came back to the shop an popped a back wheelie just to check the brakes. And ear I am today. It was more like I was in a seedy back alley. I shot up some zookie. I used to skin pop X-6 is...

... Now. I'm off all that shit is brew Keywachkeysaki tea.

Carabuser... I got the street flash. If you are that far away from Ohio you will have 3 days here 1 day to Guhls then 3 or 4 days back to you unless you expedite the shipping some.
