What a disappointment I thought Suzuki would add some HP or lose some fat or at least put up a fight with Kawasaki unless…………… NO! you don’t think Suzuki will end the Hayabusa and bring out a new model do you?????

I wouldnt say so. Because the Hayabusa is famous all over the world for being fucking fast bike. Even the non-riders know. Id say its way easier to promote a new, improved hayabusa than having a whole new type of bike to promote.

But hey. Maybe they cant get more out of the hayabusa and they have to start a whole new bike. Dunno..

I agree with Matsuke. However, as I think about this more, seems the odds of a new Suzuki hyperbike totally replacing the Hayabusa are better than the odds that Kawasaki would improve the ZX-14.

I give up trying to predict any of the advances that get made. I don't see any reason why they updated the 14 after only 6 years, espaecialy in this economy. Coulda easily waited another 3. Only thing that I can figure is that they needed to update to increase sales. I hope Suz follows suit soon. I think they will make a bike that matches the 14 like they did back in '08. They don't want to make anything faster. The competition between the brands is huge PR.

Suzi didn't do a "new" Busa yet because as always, they are waiting to see what the competition is really going to be like in the flesh. Once production 14Rs are prevalent and you start getting some real performance data, you will see a "new" Busa pop up, especially if the 14R has a real performance gap from the current Busa as advertised... As far as an completely new bike, doubt it... a refreshed one - more than likely. Just look at what they did to the Gixxer 1k for this year... no traction control, no ABS, even though everyone else is offering it... and only a loss of 4lbs... they could have gotten that from a wheel redesign only!

I think Bigwillie's on the right track here.BUT...IMO...I honestly think that Suzuki is dropping out trying to play catch-up.I do.The economy is a factor most likely....naturally...but how far can a company go trying to outdo the other one...At this point...Suzuki would have to create a powerplant and bike design that'd knock the socks off the Kawi.Maybe they're working on it right now.IDK.But it won't sell if it's ONLY a couple mph faster or one or two ponies above the new zx.Do they want to spend that money on a.....well....

I thought the comment about the 1000 not having the traction control and other stuff...that doesn't sound like a company that is intending to up the ante to me.OR...perhaps it's just the other way around...maybe IF they are designing a new Busa..they want to save that cash for R&D and throw it at the new bike? You gotta admit...the new Kawi has the serious advantage now with all the extra deals they added to it.The Connie was the platform for the zx's traction control and slipper clutch. It worked.(well, the slipper clutch anyway...don't know about traction control on a Connie?).

Buying either of these bikes is a narrow market anyway. In relation to other size bikes....these ones are not "all over the place".Lots out there...ya...but not near as many as smaller rides. There's ONE here...MINE.That's it.In the whole state.
