Hey my fellow riders, I dislocated my knee at work on March 29th. It was a simple slip & fall on a tile floor. I hit my head on the floor also, thank god for a hard head I didn't pass out! My co worker saw the fall he said that my head bounced off the floor. I really didn't feel a thing until I tried to get up. That's when something was not right with my leg. I told my co worker that my leg was broke and I couldn't get up. He though I was joking until I lifted my pant leg up. At that point my knee cap was on the side of my leg. It was not pretty, my co worker almost puked on me!!! from looking at it. Of course he ran to get help.

Help arrives the first responder is a volunteer fireman from the work place. Man by this time I'm freakin out because of the PAIN!!!!! I have to say he did a great job of keeping me calm. The meat wagon an EMTs show up to hall my butt to ER.
lucky for me the fireman asked them to start the morphine on the spot. The ride to the ER had to be the longest ride ever. The EMT kept asking me questions and the only one I could answer more morphine please!

In the ER a nurse comes in and removed the blanket that was on my knee. She looks at it and says " OH MY GOD THAT IS NOT SUPPOSE TO BE THERE" With that said I was a little worried The doctors gave me a little more of the good stuff before they reset my knee. I really can't tell you how that felt. A couple x-rays and a CT scan of my melon and I was almost home free. A nice leg brace from my thigh to my ankle an set of crutches. Then I was free to go with a care package of pain pills.

Workmans comp is a long and drawn out thing. kinda like this story bare with me I just need to vent a little thanks. I'm going crazy I think because I can't ride!!!!!! its nice out bikes are every where and I have to set back an watch.

I will have surgery on the 23rd to remove a loose bone fragment from the knee area. Nothing torn just a loose knee for now. Doctor said he would be able to tighten it up during surgery.

Sorry to hear about that Bud.I'm not that bad but my knees are probably shot.Trouble is what you mentioned.Unless what happens to me is what your going through I won't do it.Not willing to give up a riding season.I just back from a ride and my wrists hurt so bad my wife gave me vicadin.I took anti-innflamitories before I rode.

You'll be back at it as soon as hospitols, rehabs, whathaveyou and insurance co suck each other's butts as much as they can. Hope you have the good fortune to work with professionals who actually care about you and want you to get better instead of worrying about nickels and dimes and how many they can squeeze out of you and their poor staff.

My knee did the exact same thing. A guy pulled on my ankle and it slipped back in. Spent 6 weeks in a cast from hip to ankle. Since then it's been in and out at least 10 times. I suppose I could have surgery but, whatever....maybe I like pain...

Hope you get well soon! I was in the hospital too a few months ago. Almost didn't come out.
Hope I never have to go in one again. Take care and be careful. Knees get tweaked easily.
