Ok so I finally got to ride the bike a couple weeks ago ( did 4316 miles in 12 days Louisville KY to Florida Keys and around ). I had my wife on back for alot of it. And I had my loaded Givi E55 case at 38 lbs hanging on the back for all of it.
Now I am home and have had a couple chances ( albeit at sub 40 degree weather in Michigan ) to get on the bike. Its not like my Turbo Busa, which was 10" over. This one lifts the front end alot.
So my quick question, launching on the street from a dead dig, clutch out, roll throttle on after clutch out and I get nothing but air. Granted its not always instant, but the front end is dancing and slowing rising as I continue up through the rpm range. Second gear the front tire is skipping 3-4 inches off the ground continually.
I know I am not leaning on the front as much as I probably could. The bike is all stock height also and swb. I would like to lower it 1" front and back because I am only 5'8 and I am on the balls of my feet at a light.
Dropping the front and leaning more on the front end on street launches, will that help me keep the front end down? Or are there different tricks on this bike for street launches then there are for track launches?
I am still getting my groove on with the bike, and I know I will get faster on it as I go, but I am just curious for you guru's out there.
I hit a hard charging 3rd gear today and the front wheel came up about 4-5 inches also, but then settled right back down. That doesn't worry mean as much as the front lofting in the first two gears and losing speed/quickness because of it.
Thanks
Todd
