Stretching the BEAST

Thinking of stretching this beast and wondering if "those who hath gone before" would post some advice! Thinking of a McIntosh swing arm!

Hate em. I think people with stretched bikes are ass clowns who can't ride a bike for shit. But if you have to ruin such a fine machine, like I said before, for $200 bucks you might think of extensions. Way cheaper, will hold up to 400hp or so, and if you really don't like it you can go right back. Now if you do like ( God knows why you would,it looks like shit!!) you already have the lowering links, the extended brake lines, and longer chain, all you would need then was the Mcintosh arm. But like I said the swingarm ext. WILL last forever and are cheaper. The only difference is the looks. The ext. look like the stock swingarm only longer, the all new stretched swingarms look a lil skinny to me for such a big bad bike. But look up pics on the internet of each, because every swingarm looks WAYYYYYYYYYYYY different, and that's the most important thing is the looks, because they all achieve the samething in the end. But again don't be one of those losers on the streets with those stupid swingarms for posers wolf, YOUR BETTER THAN THAT!!

See what I mean wolf. This is their regular street one, it's their cheapest one and it's like $700 and in my opinion it's just way to skinny lookin. Now they have the alum. one for the street that looks real nice, but that shit is over $1200. But if you know your going to love the longer swingarm and you don't really want the extensions, this is the way to go.

4-6 for looks. 6-10 because you will want more. Evil swing arms are the most economic. Track dynamics are sexy, but heavier. You want bearings not a bushing. Check psycho bike. Your rear shock/spring is what is gonna hold you back.

WOW WOW WOW fatsix is TOTALLY right, man I can't believe I forgot about that, thanks fatsix. He is dead on wolf, with your weight you will most def. need I stiffer spring and that means even more $$$$$$. How my sits lowered and stretched it is perfect for me with the rear spring tighten a lil. Never hits or anything, and is still smooth enough to soak up some bumps with ease. BUT with my wife on the back ( She weighs 98lbs.) if we even hit a slight bump in the road or god forbid a real bump or even get on the gas kind of hard, the back end dips down and smacks the rear tire while were riding. Great catch fatsix, gotta get my head out of my ass.

Hey boys.
Thanks for your thoughts. I am not buying it for looks. I am 240lbs and 6'3. I have ramped up my hp past 200. I want to transfer all that power to the ground and keep the front end tracking.
Who knows down the road it will support a turbo motor. This is and I agree, not for the faint of heart. If you like racing and tearing up, than it is an option!

That 98lbs is on the end of the bike, which creates a lot more leverage against the spring.

Wolf. Honestly I'd go 6" over extensions. Anything more is gonna hurt the turning exponentially, even 6" is pushing it. Anything longer than 8 is rediculous looking on the street.

If you become even more addicted. Get the 8-12 arm and knock yourself out going in a straight line.

Your going to need the brocks/ ohlins drag shock either way. A re valved shock will work.

I am going to look into the extensions. Some of the Mcintosh arms are outrageous narely, but what zx has may be all I need!
Hey zx you ever crush down on your license plate?

Fatsix your right about over the tail with my wife, but still 240lbs will probably still need the revaled shock or a new shock. A lot of racers on the 14 go with the busa shock on the 14. It matches right up and is a lot stronger. Search it up, a lot of them do it and it's a lot cheaper. And again I agree with fatsix 100% on the street all you need is 6inch like mine. Anything more looks bad,and is harder to handle, and not really needed. I guess since will live in the same area we think alike fatsix!!!! And wolf I really don't notice my stretch at all on the street, I still go around jug handles and normal turns just as quick, and to be honest it feels more solid now. But most everyone you'll ever talk to that gets a smaller stretch(6IN or less) will tell you the samething. No wolf my plate is bent upwards just a lil. And again without my wifes 98lbs right on the tail the bike doesn't really move at all.

He can get away with a penske spring and a revalved shock. $3-400. Brocks is in the $1k range.

I'd start there then add the length.

I run a 41T on the back. Roll ons make the front end light.

If you lengthen your swing arm you are going to need to UPGRADE that rear shock in my opinion. Don't just make it work sir, go quality, get a race tech or a Penske rear whisk sprung for YOUR weight and the difference WILL BLOW YOUR MIND. Your bike will still handle adequately but you will be able to take full advantage of that extra leverage ONLY with the PROPER spring and shock acting on that hinge. Just my humble opinion my brother!

Well C's humble opinion is again dead on. Wolf the easy way is to go to roaring toyz web site, they have a stretch and lower kit package for one set price, I think $700. That's the easier way. Me I went on line and found the parts one by one and got the BEST PARTS out there and got them for the same price. For example they give you a basic longer chain, Nooooooooo way for me pal, with over 200hp and almost 120tq a got the strongest chain out there, the ZZZ. Again you need to research what you want to do.

Wolf, if you are not going to be carving canyons, GO FOR IT ! You are going to loose SOME handling, but if you do mostly high sweepers etc .. Then it won't matter much, depends on what type of riding you do, but like C said, you might want to look into Penske shock, just my VERY humble opinion, that beast is going to look badass no matter what way you go ..... To tell the truth, I have been thinking of buying my son a 300 kawi so I can sneak off in some of the tight little canyons that are close to my house, the 14 is just too much of a beast for SOME of the smaller tighter canyons around my house ...
