Dislike for black matte 14R (SE)?

It looks like an unfinished primer to me. It doesn't appear like a brand new shiny bike. I like the black/green.
The problem is the black/green is only $100 cheaper at me dealer. Giving up the bembro breaks for color is almost ladylike. I could deal with black it it was glossy.
Does anyone have the SE black matte and does it grow on you?

I like the color. It's a little diferent the other 97% of motorcycles that are also black. You probably could clear coat it and get a glossy non-metalic black color.

Rook,does it scratch up? I have a feeling they are having a tough time selling these because there are literally 4 YouTube videos I see for the 2016 14r Special Edition.
I will probably get it anyway because of performance and style. It just sucks to buy new and not have exactly what you want.

I wasn't sure at first, but in person it looks a lot better than the pics! Mine is the '15 metallic matte carbon, official name....to answer your question, yes, it really grows on you, and I've got tons of compliments already. Makes the metallic green accents really pop too. Just got some green anodized screen screws for more accent.

I'm gonna check it out Fossambault, to see what they call it, but if it's the metallic matte carbon, you'd be surprised how much it actually sparkles in the sun!

Yep, same paint...I will say besides the sparkle in the sun, seems bugs come right off a lot easier, and shows no swirls or streaks. I know this because I had a shiny green n black '11 that showed everything. You really need to see it up close in person to make a fair judgement.

I have 2,000 miles on my 2 month old 16 Matte Black SE. I like it right away and still do. It doesn't seem to show dirt quite like a gloss black. The 1st I did was replace the stock cans with CF 14" Delkevic ovals...Makes all the difference! I came from 17 years and 3 Honda XXs. Couldn't be much happier with this ZX.
